Hunter Pet Talents?

Has there been any word on hunter pets. Will they get a basic, or even streamlined talent tree by chance? Any word about swapping specs for them?

It would be neat to say make Warcrawler Karkithiss a DPS spec. (As I find his name/appearance combo) to be one of the more unique in the game. But feel sort of forced into a ferocity pet for raiding/dungeons.

At that: Am I just overthinking that and the pets dmg is so close that it doesn’t matter?

100% this. You should be able to pick the abilities you pet brings then pick its look separate.

Nah, one mention - the devs being very clear (here in a pet thread in the Community Council forums) that you wouldn’t be able to respec your pet in DF. Sorry mate, here’s holding out for 11.0.
