Humanoid Combat Forms for Dracthyr and Worgen

Did you pay attention to the starting experience? Just wondering.

They say Neltharion talked to them about using visages but they never got the chance.

Don’t tell this guy about Tauren. It will overload his tiny human paladin mind and well I’m not cleaning up another one after last time.

the only time they talk about a visage is as Wrathion/Ebyssian turns into one…
And there they only said Neltharion used to have one too.

They actually tell you “Neltharion said we were going to train with visages someday, but then we got sealed away”

Neltharion made them with the visage in mind. Other dragonkin don’t get visages. Dracthyr do, but theirs is notably different from a dragon. Dracthyr were made as soldiers, so it stands to reason that their visage had something to do with combat.

Visages are meant to avoid conflict …

Visages are meant for dragons to seem more approachable to the mortal races and is also just a key part of their identity. They can still very much use their powers while doing it.

But again, dracthyr aren’t dragons. Their visages are not the same deal, and they supposedly have a different purpose.

I repeat, Dragons don’t fight in visage form.
name one that uses any draconic attack in visage?

Also From the Wiki:

The dracthyr are an ancient race of humanoid dragonkin.[1] They have the ability to wield the magic of all five primary dragonflights as evokers, and, like true dragons, shapeshift between a draconic form and a humanoid visage.

Literally Kalecgos half the time he fights anything.

why is it always my faction that wants this trash. first they want to play worgens in human form only. then play void elf as basic blood elf. now its dracthyr as basic human

no place for beast races in the Alliance I would assume

can you show me?

I truly hope they never add that option, want to play as an elf shooting spells go play mage.

Not presently, but in a few hours you’ll bee able see him fight things as both dragon and visage in the azure span.

Soo all the time is in the future …
very conveniently

yet I bet he doesn’t use Draconic abilities.

I just want visage for worgen. Entering werewolf form in combat and afterwards shifting back.

The gilnean accent and heritage armor. Also the option of using both is pretty good. Werewolves are shapeshifters. So having the option for two forms in combat is nice rp. Basically two in one.

Combat disguises is the way to go imo. It’s an easy toy to make for dracthyr and worgen players with a permanant uptime buff if players so choose.

Agreed, Worgen need a Chosen Identity spell

Im pretty sure there are other scenarios but that one is the freshest in my mind

But again, it doesn’t really matter… Because, for the 1,000th time, dracthyr are not dragons, they are dragonkin. Their visage is not like a dragon’s, it is for a different purpose that they never got to learn.

This is a new race and all of the “rules” of dragons don’t exactly apply to them. Blizzard can do what they want with it, they have no hard established background yet.

They mentioned earlier on in the alpha that they understood people wanted to use their visage more in combat, and that the animations were designed around the draconic form, but down the line they might do more to incorporate the visage into combat. Ultimately, they said they wanted people to be able to express themself how they like with dracthyr, and don’t want to limit enjoyment of it for gameplay mechanics.

Whether that sentiment stopped at the chosen identity racial they added later is something we won’t know until they tell us so.

Wish us Worgens could use our claws as a slashing attack other than the Worgen druids. We are werewolves and this should be a lore type attack. If not our claws than what about a bite attack.
