Human Diversity in WoW will be fun

Explain what this means

Voodoo is a spelling of Vodou, reminiscent of either Haitian Vodou, which was a blend of ancient west African religions and Roman Catholicism, and focuses on the veneration of spirits known as Iwa, or Loa. or southern Hoodoo (which was a form of “low magic” practiced in secret away from the eyes of slave owners).

The word itself means “spirit” or “deity”. you can’t really classify it as one whole religion because a great deal of it depends on what form of Voodoo/Vodou you are talking about. Whether it’s original African traditions, Vodou from Haiti after the French were kicked out, or the American Voodoo practices along the southern coast. But they all share common threads such as the reverence for whatever Iwa you choose to serve.

The closest thing I can think of is if a christian chose to serve their archangel Michael who is an intermediary between the servants their actual god. That’s the role the Iwa serve, not the role of deity but the intermediary between adherents of Vodou and Bondye.

I hope that clears things up!

and the origins in West Africa with black people, which is where the idea that trolls are coded black comes from, and not some ridiculous notion that we’re looking at trolls and thinking “black people have tusks” or whatever that fool she was arguing with was thinking.

Which was the point.
