The impending demise was the ongoing consideration for my one warrior, dedicating a lifetime to the purpose of martial perfection and dutiful fulfillment of a rigid honor-coded philosophy. It was an intentionally far off thing, I spent the earlier part of the character’s (brief) run time treating it like a far off horizon, that the curse of living to old age and possibly dying peacefully would have to be a culminating struggle to overcome. Then I toyed around with some different ideas and I was treating that impending death instead as a plot development for another character instead, but then that was even more difficult because suddenly there was no satisfying combination of expressing character growth and simultaneously servicing a secondary storyline I could come up with to fit my intentions.
And then other things came up and I dropped it all, so as far as I remember death had come but I never plotted down details on the off chance I committed to finishing that all out ever.
Kirsy already died.
A long time ago (WoD I think it was), she was stabbed with a blade that had a slow-acting poison without a cure. From that time until end of BFA, she’d been using the Light to hold off the poison’s effects and stay alive. It finally became too much.
At the beginning of SL, I had her come back as a newly risen DK who was struggling with missing big chunks of her memory, the loss of her main source of power (the Light) and an anger issue. I played her that way for awhile. It was the first character growth I’d had on Kirsy in an age.
Right now I’m not really playing her on WrA. If I do come back, I’m considering some kind of bendy-wendy thing to bring her back to a living state and see where the RP takes her. I’m not really thrilled with these kinds of plots, but I also don’t want to retcon the character growth.
Either way, we’ll see. I’m having fun in Classic LK right now.

Coleman Krawson, the Shield of Lordaeron and Inquisitor of Her Glory the Banshee Queen, was executed by his only living heir. His son tracked him down and judged him unworthy of the continuation of his existence and after a lengthy campaign and hunt…Cole was brought to an end. Some say they saw him slip from the Shadowlands alongside others and escape his fate but hey that’s just hearsay.

I just hope none of my characters ever have to die to trash the way Vol’jin did.
For some, theyll grow old and die in relative comfort.
For others, if they dont die from an accident, theyll go out with a bang, tailored to their story.
The frat twins i sometimes RP will likely go out protecting someone/someplace. The one is always wanting to help while his frat bro helps by watching their backs.
Welp. Kade will likely meet his end doing his work or pissing someone off either by killing a loved one or having fun with one. He’s been around for awhile in elf years so he’s probably just been lucky all this time.
During the third war, whe- Hold on a minute!

Preferably, whenever I decide to retire him.
If and I mean a -BIG- if here, the story truly justifies it… I’ll kill him off. Knowing him, it would probably be to save someone else’s hide while cursing his stupidity the whole ride to the Shadowlands.
Phew. I’ve got a ton of characters, but a few of 'em could be interesting.
I always envisioned Kai here giving himself to a greater whole, so to say. Can’t remember where I read it (or if maybe I’m misremembering something), but I figured he might give himself to elemental ascendance someday to play his part in taking down some world-ending threat, perhaps accompanied by many of his fellow shamans.
Chentao, my Huojin Pandaren warrior, is getting up there in age… but he’d gladly go down fighting if given the chance. At this point, he’s not really expecting to meet that kind of end, though. It’s more likely he’ll just turn into a grumpy and stubborn (yet paternal and loving) grandfatherly figure to his clan as his only son takes care of him in old age.
Jikai, my monk, would probably try and become a mentor someday and age with grace. He’d probably have some sort of intuition that tells him his end is near and he’d depart from those he loves to find peace and let others remember him more as he lived. Something like how the elders of Shen-zin Su go.
Too many others to list, but I never gave much thought to this before. Might return to this topic!

Vanndrel almost died once before, on Broken Shore (Which led to him being with Umbric’s followers during that whole ball of snot). So if I had to venture a guess there will come a situation where Vanndrel doesn’t walk away, since even though he’s got a farmstead out near Millstone, there’s no way he’ll just settle down quietly to be a farmer for the rest of his ridiculously long life.
Vanndrel’s past is too full of trauma for his end to come from anything but violence. And then one more ghost will begin wandering Goldenmist.

Bazrokh Firestep is an old Orc. He’s seen many things both wonderful and terrible. He’s seen war and death, but also beauty and joy. He’s made and lost many friends and enemies. A tale too long for me to write here.
He has served and lead, befriended and fought. He was a hunter and a warrior. A father and a brother. A passing friend, a passionate lover. He wasn’t well known by any means, but always did his part in the events of the world. As flawed and uncertain as any other mortal creature. In essence, no one really special, because he never sought to be.
Whenever I decide to retire him, he will go, hopefully, peacefully, perhaps resting in a cabin in the Jade Forest in Pandaria on the banks of one of its many rivers. Enjoying the serene songs of nature, his old wolf Thunder laying next to him. He would reminisce about the events of his life and at the end of it, the old Orc would close his eyes for the final time and sleep eternally, a small smile curving around his weathered tusks.

I feel like Lianshi would get taken out (allegedly) once she’s old. My whole concept since creating the character is to embody every trope, realistic and ridiculous, about ninja and clandestine archetypes and just imagine as someone that couldn’t be defeated in normal means so rivals simply waited until she was no longer in her prime. Maybe when she out in Pandaria, pretending to be some sort of teacher at dojo or orphanage as her cover. Toss in some epic and gripping circumstances where she picks saving the lives of children over her own as she battles a sinister six of mutual enemies from the Alliance, criminal groups, former Hellscream and Windrunner loyalists, and just anyone who’s had to bone to pick with her from antics in her past.
And then allegedly dying in some explosion before taking out nearly everyone despite being well in her 60s or some sort. Orphans/students are left alone and the “too compromising to be left alive” threat of Lian’shi Steelpaw is no more.
Allegedly because conveniently, they couldn’t find the body.
So basically she goes out like Ana or Soldier 76 from Overwatch.

Eventually, my frat twin brothers will get in way over their heads and end up getting overkilled. All because the one thought he could handle saving a lot of people, and his bro has always had his back.
My shaldorei woman, however, will die of old age.
First I love reading this stuff, the end of a characters journey is just as important to me as the arc. Some of the best tales I’ve enjoyed is when a hero meets an untimely end, it makes the struggles so much better.
That being said, Zhi here is more than likely going to die at 50 or so due to his decaying bone structure. He is just going to struggle for many years as a teacher, hiding how unhealthy and ill he is as to not worry others till one day he either can’t handle the pain any longer and gives up, or goes peacefully in his sleep.
I don’t know how, but I’m sure it’ll involve that titans-damned witch Barrel Caskin!
All of my Orcs are soldiers. Not necessarily the warrior class, but soldiers. Every one of them would hope to die in battle.
I’m positive it will involve the last words I hear being, “I saw it!”
