Ok so I’ve owned an fx 8320, fx 8350, and fx 8370. My advice? Don’t buy an fx cpu, they are HORRIBLE compared to any modern intel cpu or amd ryzen cpu.

I was such a fan boy, it took me 3 terrible cpu purchases to realize Bulldozer was just a terrible architecture. I ended up buying an i7 6700k after all my head aches. Why did I purchase an i7 6700k to replace my fx cpu’s? Because of the garbage tier minimum frame rates the fx cpu’s were giving me in World Of Warcraft. WoW is very single threaded dependent, fx is very weak single threaded performance.

Find a grey site Windows and upgrade to and SSD at some point
I used to recommend a 2600 but the 9400f at 4.1ghz boost has been beating even an OC’d 2600

You can find some good deals in the used market.

I recently sold an i7-2600/8GB memory/Radeon RX 570 4GB/240G Intel SSD for $280. And that should play WoW 1080p 60fps on high settings.

Multi-threaded patch makes WoW much better on FX CPU’s. The FX 8300 is equal to a Ryzen 3 1200, albeit at higher power usage.

Craigslist (but you have to know what you’re buying and test beforehand)? There’s some good deals and some equally crap ones. Otherwise, try reddit /r/hardwareswap (if there’s a bad deal, people will get called out).

Remember that saving money is a function of time and knowledge.

I think the best deal I’ve scored on Craigslist was a computer illiterate guy. He sold an Alienware Aurora R4 for $150 a few months back. Specs were an i7-4820K, 16GB, and GTX 680 4GB.

Dang, the card is no good but for 150 bucks you’d basically only get the processor, think they run about 130-140 on the ebays.

How about this build? GTX 1050 TI
AMD A10-6700
CORE I7
8GB DDR4 RAM
1TB STORAGE
