Lazy devs letting their game die again
and nothing from blizzard.
BUMP UP FOR BLIZZ SEEING THIS!!
after all we really need the honor
Bump for continued visibility
Honor is in such a bad state that Blizzard shouldn’t even care about trying to make it accurate to what they think it was back in the day (I highly doubt they have it right currently as is). It’s so bad that they should just throw that thought process out the window and attempt to make honor rates/values much more manageable than they currently are.
Honor needs a serious buff, IMO from my experience anywhere between 3-5x the current rates. It’d still be likely close to 100 hours give or take to farm it at those rates which is still quite a long time investment, but would incentivize more Ally to queue which would lower the queue times for Horde and allow both factions to farm the gear out at an actually doable rate.
Had my say on this malarkey during pre-patch, got yelled down by the Bliz defenders.
Gonna sit in my corner and drink my glass of “I told you so.”
The honor is TBC accurate, this thread is largely misinformation.
The honor is TBC accurate, this thread is largely misinformation.
TBC encompassed two years of changes. It’s not ‘largely misinformation’ it’s different points in time for many individuals. The issue here boils down to which period of time should Blizzard implement?
Or, as #SomeChanges now rules the day, I quite honestly could not care less what it used to be at any point in TBC original. They already decided to make adjustments.
It is time to adjust-increase honor gains in TBC classic. #MoreChanges
…this is the same pre-patch thread, there is no ‘i told you so’
It is misinformation. When the OP is quite literally making up changes that never happened, that’s misinformation.
Ranks never affected honor in TBC.
I think you’d have to be braindead to think Blizzard has honor correct right now. But lets give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it is correct. Who cares? This is essentially the same discussion as world buffs was in Classic. Is it accurate to how it was back then? Yes, but players are engaging with the system and the game as a whole much differently now than they did back then, resulting in a bunch of serious problems that need to be addressed.
World buffs created this terrible meta of only playing your character 2-3 days out of the week and then spending all your time logged out holding world buffs. It was a terrible pattern of gameplay that was very unhealthy for the game and Blizzard realized this but didn’t fix it until Classic was over. Huge mistake, and I like many other people watched countless friends and guildies quit the game over the course of Classic due to the world buff meta. Things could have been so different, and so much better.
Honor currently has created a similarly terrible situation where Horde are stuck in these 40 min - 1 hr + long queues which is bad enough by itself, but then a lot of them in between these awful queues are going out and ganking lowbie Alliance nonstop to try to earn more honor which has created another terrible problem. Blaumeux, as well as multiple other PvP servers have seen Ally guilds and players mass exodus from the horrible ganking. The low honor itself has also pushed so many people away on both sides, but its especially bad when it pushes Alliance away cause it worsens the queue time problem.
Blizzard need to step in and buff honor (by 3-4x in my opinion) to alleviate these problems and create a healthier, better game environment for everyone. Lets hope they don’t make the same mistake they made with world buffs, waiting way too long till its too late to fix the problem after droves of people have quit and the game as a whole was way worse off before they stepped in. Step in now, fix it, and the game will be much better off for it.
I’ve linked dozens of TBC era screenshots, videos and blue posts confirming it’s accurate. This isn’t debatable, it’s a fact.
Not me. They could increase honor rates by 20x for all I care.
Everyone wants stuff instantly these days kek. Go play another game, mmos are grindy.
Your posts are anecdotal at best and completely inaccurate at worst. They don’t account for which patch the game is being played on when the honor for kills are rewarded, they don’t show how many teammates or raid members are nearby to determine if the honor being rewarded is accurately matching how its being distributed now, and they definitely don’t account for whether or not the honor being rewarded is affected by the diminishing returns change in patch 2.4.0.
Not to mention you did nothing to try to disprove the idea that BG bonus honor objectives are also incorrectly rewarding the wrong amount of honor. Eye of the Storm flag captures are supposed to give bonus honor depending on how many bases you currently capture as is stated in patch 2.2.0, yet that’s not correctly working even AFTER their initial change to their borked honor rates for flag caps. Honor rates for capturing towers in AV as was changed in 2.3.0 also doesn’t seem to be accurate.
This is all only for documented changes in the patch notes as well. Who knows what other changes happened in the undocumented changes that could be making honor worse than it should be. Boggles my mind how you or anyone for that matter could have confidence that Blizzard have their honor rates correct when they’ve already screwed them up and had to make hotfix changes this many times from the start of prepatch until now.
I’m not going to address the majority of your post because it’s just ludicrous. I’ll hit this real quick because it just proves how easy it is to debunk disinformation:
[Eye of the Storm]: The points awarded from capturing the flag now increase based on the number of bases the capturing teams owns.
POINTS.
POINTS.
Not HONOR.
POINTS.
No honor for flag captures in Eye of the Storm.
You cherrypick one cause you know you’re wrong on the others. Very convenient chief.
I could completely dismantle the rest of your post but it’s not worth my time. We both know, that you know that you’re wrong.
“Trust me bro, she goes to another school.”
I very vaguly remember getting a ton of honor per day back in like season 1 or 2. Av was like a 6 minute win every game in cyclone though but i remember marks being the hard part.
Now this is sad. It did not take 400 hours to grind an entry level blue set in PVP. This is actually lolworthy. I got the full blue set in TBC on this very same account on Blackrock Horde and I definitely remember being able to get a piece a day if I played 10 hrs a day. Not a piece every week playing 10 hrs a day.
