I would say “D. all of the above”, it was the perfect blend of having something for everyone to do all the time. The dungeons and raids were awesome, we had tabards for rep that we could wear. It was a big Continent and there was something you could work on in every zone at any time.
It was my favorite expansion ever and ended up with me taking a 7 year break. My dearest friend irl and in game died suddenly from kidney failure (type 1 diabetes) at 39, then 3 months later I lost my Dad. I will never forget Wrath for that very reason, I almost couldn’t go on.
WotLK was honestly busy work, but it was fun busy work. At least that’s how I remember it. Between all of things I mentioned Wintergrasp was a blast as well.
**Edit - This was not my main in Wrath. I was playing a Ret. Paladin and they were absolutely AMAZING until the pre-patch for Cata when they were nerfed into oblivion. She went from my #1 to #4 barely-played-character any longer. The Ret. Pally’s never recovered from what Blizz did to them.
