How viable is Ret Pally in M+ currently

Apparently you seem to only check places that see your views but you disregard the many others they never even mention this stuff. Seems we both hang around like minded people. Nice try.

Ok so you ARE basing that of discussing with 3 people of your guild.
Thanks for clearing that up, I understand why you think like that now.

Have a good day.

Nice assumption there bud. Hate to break it too you but the majority of the player base does not read nor post on any forum, be it here, discord, mmo champion, and many people can post their guides and they just like normal people will have different opinions on what is good or bad when you see a guide that hates certain aspects of your class does not mean it is a majority opinion. Most people just in general when they go to forums do so as an outlet for their grievances. So what you get are mostly upset posts over positive post. It’s just human nature. So again these forums are not representative of what the majority of the players believe.

Where are they?
You said yourself, they are not on the forums.
And by your account they don’t hang out on Pally discord or Wowhead or IcyVeins, so where are they?
Where are the guide those people wrotes? Where are the videos they do showing it’s fluid and fine?
Where do they share THEIR insight?
It’s kind of hard to listen and give ANY credibility to them if they literally don’t speak up.

Ok so it’s literally impossible to tell either way then right?
How do you even know if they don’t post? You spoke to all of them? lol

You can’t say the majority don’t post their opinion anywhere and then in the same breath claim that this “said majority” implicitly agrees with your views.

Who’s assuming things now?

The guys who’s interpreting the “opinions” of the “majority” who said literally nothing one way or the other?

Or the guy who back up his claims with sources, analysis, post, comments, opinions of community leaders and long time players that anyone can go and check for themselves?

Holy crap man…

Let’s rephrase this whole thing then.
There is a pretty large consensus among those who ACTUALLY DISCUSS Ret current state that its rotation is bloated, clunky and not fluid. Albeit not stopping it from doing decent damage.

Clearly this is going to be going nowhere. So you can live in you bubble of negativity and I’ll just keep on enjoying playing ret.

On the contrary, there are many things to be optimistic about.
Don’t just come in here saying everything is fine and justifying it with “silent majority” non-sense.

You can say that it works for you and as I said, good for you man.
I’m glad you enjoy it, genuinely.
But that’s your own personal experience. All the pieces of re-traceable commentaries we got (not in-game hear-say but actual post and reviews on different sources) point to you being a very minor part of the players who are fine with the current design.

Don’t try to pass off your experience as generalized when everything seems to point to the contrary.

If you know people who are fine with current design, please do tell them to voice it meaningfully.
Because as of right now, I’ve seen 2 people say that they were fine with it with 1 being somewhat influenced by the damage being decent.

It’s pointless to argue with that dude, just block him and you won’t have to see his posts lol. His viewpoint is based on the tiny sample of content he’s done. Just from reading the posts in here you can see that he has no one who agrees with him and while we may not be all the rets in the world we are the only ones providing feedback.

Same can be said about you. You’re all equally as stubborn as I am. I really don’t understand how you dislike our rotation so much. I really don’t

Ah yes, beware of dissenting opinions. We wouldn’t want this place to become an echo-chamber of any sorts. Light forbid someone enjoys their class/spec without having to filter their opinion through Warcraft logs.

You afraid the one underpaid Paladin dev might read about him enjoying something and rescind any buffs/bug fixes or something?

Lol you another friend of his coming to the rescue? Did I try and say he couldn’t have an opinion, nope, he can think whatever he wants. It’s just pointless to argue with him when his opinion is based on his very narrow viewpoint.

Actually you tend to imply that I’m simply wrong rather than understanding it’s an opposing opinion. It’s like you just can’t tolerate that people can enjoy aspects of the class that you don’t. You say I have a narrow view point but once again same can be said of you.

our rotation feels a bit clunky to be honest trying to squeeze in consencration and/or exorcism is a bit of a pita.

Yeah it’s something not everyone is going to like. It’s something that just doesn’t bother me much so I don’t mind using consecration, consecrated blade does help some with this somewhat. Remember you don’t have to use it in a ST fight it’s generally not worth the GCD unless you actually have nothing else to press at that moment.

Also this dude: “Mythic Plus Rating - 900”

It’s true we have to be careful about echo chambers.
And as I said, good for them if they like current Ret.
But my point was that someone can’t claim there are many who likes the current iteration ( which I’m sure there are some) and then point to them being a “silent majority” to explain the complete lack of positive comment/feedback and evidences to support there claim.

While on the other side we can see multiple forum thread pointing out mostly the SAME ISSUES as to why Ret rotation and iteration is frustrating. (Not even gonna mention the bugs/useless talents)
Not only forum threads but the Paladin community on discord where a BUNCH of them gathers to discuss and the various guide writers.

Furthermore, it’s impossible to distinguish who among this “silent majority” likes current Ret and those who don’t really care either way and are just cruising along with whatever the spec does.

Finally, we might have a brutal awakening if we ever fall off in damage since this metric is a major contributing factor in the spec enjoyment for many.

While IO rating might be an indicator of skills and spec knowledge and can help putting certain people comments in perspective on specific topics, I’m not keen to use them to derail someone opinions.
Especially since he didn’t address their competitiveness at any point.
A mediocre player can still have great ideas for a class.

If you dig further you’ll see that he had decent ratings in Season 3 and 4 of SL so to each their pace. Everyone has different circumstance that let’s them play a certain amount of time.

These abilities let you survive at higher keys than you otherwise could have while making no mistakes. Dead dps do 0 damage.

Absolutely agree. With things being as they are, with having taken Exorcism and so forth we’re looking at a damned near 12-13 button, CD counted rotation… (1. Crusade/Avenging Wrath), (2. Seraphim), (3. Final Reckoning), (4. Radiant Decree/Wake of Ashes), (5. Temp Verdict), (6. Divine Storm), (7. Divine Toll), (8. Hammer of Wrath), (9. Judgment), (10. Blade of Justice), (11. Crusader Strike), (12. Exorcism), (13. Consecration)

Its honestly outright lunacy how much there is to micro-manage playing about with this huge “rotation” of “Priority Play” that is our rotation, between base button priorities and addition procs of this and that…like Divine Purpose, Empyrean Power, Art of War and Art of War Consecrations, Sanctification addition Holy Power generation…

But thats just my 2 cents here on things… I just agree that the rotation is monstrously bloated…and with my own input to things, our CD dependency to be even noticeable as damage on the meter…ontop of this disgustingly miniscule amount of GCD-Locked defensives we have, between only a 1:30 Shield of Vengeance, and 3:30 Divine Shield which it itself is not even operating properly as an invulnerability at the moment, having multiple current game mechanics and effects pass right through it. - (One example being the Strunraan world boss, Shock Water mechanic’s ticking damage will still tick damage every 0.5 seconds even with Divine Shield active if standing in the water of the ground mechanic’s area)

Having seen ret all the way up to +16 keys I have no issue believing their viability to 20s. How difficult or not is up in the air, but I am quite sure it can be done.

Already being done, just check out Qrva and Xail.
