How to win a 120 BG when the enemy team vastly outgears your team

I truly did. For true I did.

No… You didn’t

Because if you did, you’d had realized with mythic gear players owned the BGs

I think I know myself and what I “did” better than you lol.

Great

But you’re incorrect on one thing and that’s not acknowledging an advantage by high geared players joining BGs

Welp I disagree with you.

I do too and I’m not the only one saying otherwise

That’s super duper!

Im pretty sure pvp participation ranked in that xpac because it was just plain out not fun getting a template character for pvp

Imagine how pve would look if you got template characters to balance it

I would recommend you in an expansion where imbalance in pvp not only for classes but between new vs. veteran pvp players affected the game badly again.

But since you are months away from finishing this horrible expansion which was not much fun to say, I suggest waiting for Shadowlands and hopefully it will be worth an exact balance again even for new players who have just played the expansion in fact when it is op after X.0.0 patch.

Here’s how the PvP Scaling works.

https://twitter.com/ckaleiki/status/1041878657701052416?lang=en

Basically, if your item level is significantly higher than the player you’re fighting, your item level is scaled down to a still much higher, but more fair level.

This chart was made pre corruption however.

Then you should be used to being crushed by better geared players most of the time.

Was that not the point of some people in this thread that everything in a battleground scales? If that is the case then it wouldn’t matter since everything evens out in the end… /LUL

this is why I liked legion’s scaling, just sayin

maybe they could reign pvp in by just scaling stam/ms, keep numbers at a comfortable base while allowing players to prioritize stats they want

*Used to being crushed by better geared PvP players.

PvP Power/Resilience helped keep endgames separate.

The times I was bodied in PvP was because I went up against a gladiator, not a raider.

BFA turned PvP into a minigame for something to do between lockouts.

It’s the first you’ve heard of this because scaling doesn’t matter as much as whitecrow is trying to make it seem, a pvp dev has confirmed this.

Gear does matter. Especially in 8.3 with all the busted corruptions and PvE trinkets.

To me this is a problem that really impacts battlegrounds. There is absolutly no reason to stay in a battleground that you know you are going to lose and often the winner can be determined pretty early in the match.

If they would go back to having honor actually being useful for acquiring pvp gear upgrades(of a decent ilvl) that would be reason enough to stay, as long as the losing team can still earn ‘some’ honor throughout the match.

The way it’s set up now, you basically get nothing unless it’s a win.

Now I’m not saying the honor gear should be on the same level as the conquest gear, but it would have to be better than world quests. Otherwise there would be no point and we would be back to where we are now.

Put your lowest ilvl people together and send them in to get farmed. Maybe that’ll keep the horde zug zuging long enough for the rest go for objectives

Why does horde have long bg queue

This is entirely untrue. People in BiS gear during the last patch had a max of about 15% stats on someone that just dinged 110. If we are talking BG/WQ/World boss geared casuals, the difference in template stats was only around 4-5%. That’s less than the difference between conquest and honor gear from previous expansions.

I dunno how you think 10 ilvls equaling 1% of stats would equate to a huge gap when there was only really a 40-50 ilvl gap between casuals and mythic geared players in the last patch, and even smaller in previous patches.

Then again you only have the achievement for prestige 1 during legion so it doesn’t look like you PvPed at all in the first place.

Play in the other team
