I agree that this is the next step you should take. Compatibility mode settings for the game may have been triggered due to the windows faults I mentioned earlier. Windows troubleshooter will sometimes do this if you run it after an issue happens. DirectX 12 is only available on Windows 10, so please disable any compatibility mode settings you’re running:
- Go to your World of Warcraft install file (C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft by default)
- Right click the WoW.exe file and select Properties
- On the Compatibility tab, uncheck the option for Run this program in compatibility mode for:
- Click Apply
If that doesn’t work we can also try forcing it and see if it takes.
- Open the Battle.net app and go to Settings
- Click Game Settings
- Check Additional command line arguments for World of Warcraft
- Type in -d3d12
- Click Okay and launch the client
