You said the majority of the Shen’dralar mages were killed though.
I most certainly did. They were killed by Forsaken plus the two who gave their lives at Darnassus. For awhile I was certain that it was nearly all of them, since they were described as coming out as a full unit, so I assumed the only survivors were those too feeble to volounteer.
There were not that many Shen’dralar left to start with. And Maiev had murdered a few of them in Wolfheart. I would say that present the majority of Night Elf mages are of the new generation.
Were they? It was the Highborne of the Night Elf empire that originated the Quel’dorei designation.
It resonated with the Highborne that would become High Elves and Blood Elves so much, they continued to refer to themselves as Quel’dorei into the present setting.
But they could be both, thats the thing, as i tried to explain Kaldorei is synonymous to night elves, as much as Quel’dorei is synonymous wiht highbornes
