If I remember correctly, the addon https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html has a button on the right side of the screen that “scrolls out/in” the information panel (scrolling may be an option). This probably better displays what I’m talking about but without the background list to “scroll over”.
