How to fix the hybrid problem

We have a healer/tank shortage in modern WoW where the game offers us every convenience to switch and there are more classes that can heal or tank. There has always been a healer/tank shortage because those are roles that less people want to play.

Change modern WoW to “every MMORPG ever made”…

Even in games where every single character can tank & damage & heal in different specs.

exactly. even in games where literally every class can perform every role…tanks and healers are at a shortage.

Right, which is why trying to force hybrids into healing ultimately ended up as a failure.

Which is why fixing there dps doesn’t matter.

Except to the people playing hyrbids, which is why balancing hybrid dps has only positive impact. Something that was proved when it was done.

Do you know what else the expansion showed us proof of? That buffing hybrid DPS numbers doesn’t actually result in more healers or tank.

So there’s no need to do it in Classic for the sake of “people wont play hybrids otherwise so have fun with a healer shortage”.

I also wouldn’t call WotLK era design nothing but positive impacts. It more or less turned made hybrids not actually hybrids anymore. I just had the option to change between pure DPS, pure healer, or pure tank without rolling a new character.

And had a negative impact on rogues and Warlocks.
