How to fix M+ pugging, lack of tanks heals and toxicity

As a healer I feel this would suck, and majorly reduce the agency I have as a healer to help the team recover.

Except not even one you would tank even then.

They would never do that. It would cut too deeply into token sales if paid carries of m+ runs required that.

nothing liked adding a hard pull before last boss to deplete keys after a long dungeon ,speaking of SV , that giant with 2 casters and totems…ugh , u need interrupts hard ccs , and st burst for totems add the affix to mix and …

some compos have a hard time with this

My suggestion would be to make it worthwhile to bring newbies in your key. Such as, having everyone gain +1% chance of getting loot for each 100 M+ points that players gain.

the marketability of this idea is so unbelievably huge I actually want to see it happen lol.

What does that even mean? They aren’t changing the holy trinity or group count, changing the ratio will change nothing, we have too many DPS and not enough healers and tanks. What would a ratio change do in a 5-man group setting?

You fix m+ by putting myth track into end of dungeon chests.

It’s not esports when it’s all about waiting for your great vault weekly lootbox.

You also fix it by adding participation currency for mogs/mounts.

The real way you fix M+ is buff acquisition rates of gear and crests from other sources to be close to how absurdly high M+ is.

Filters out a lot of the players who don’t want to be there, but are almost forced in by the game design.

Just make M+ work like delves minus the ability to solo them. No more keys, no more depletion.

I dont think any of these are good ideas, honestly… the root of the problem is that Tanks and healers dont have enough incentives. DPS is by far the easiest, you just have to worry about interrupts and positioning. Tanks have it relatively easier than healers, since healers have to do all the mechanics AND worry about groups’ health bars going from 100% to <20% instantly when/if someone screws up.

Doesnt help every patch they just make the classes/specs that are most important even LESS fun to play… doesnt even become a ‘challenge’ or ‘skill issue’ after a certain point, it’s a lottery if you’re pugging.

Could try to defend it by saying “just join a steady group” – but good luck with that if you’re in a low-pop battlegroup, and there’s still to many obstacles for X-faction groups.

The toxicity is just built into the system of M+, it’s designed around a low-popularity E-sport and each minor advantage is viewed as an exploit and gets nerfed into the ground, rather than bringing other strategies/comps UP.

Battlegroups haven’t existed for a long time.

The vault being as high in term of dungeon requirement also snowball the difference in term of ratio of tanks/healers vs dps.

If you have a ratio of 2 tanks for 15 dps with backups for a 20m group considering 8 weekly M+.
That’s 16 M+ for tanks which can do 48 M+ for dps in those keys vs 120 total M+ needed so a 72 M+ difference so at least 24 more M+ to run .
If we half it, that’s 8 M+ for tanks, 24 M+ for dps vs a 60 total key needed so a 36 M+ difference so at least 12 more M+ to run.

It was much much easier to run everyone from my guild in a week when you only needed 1 weekly m+ for your weekly vault as that would be like 5 keys then for tanks to run and only 4 being extra.

Moreover, if you made raids drop more loot or crests then that would also mean having to run less M+ where the ratio might be worse. The heroic week not having M+ did help to run a bit less M+ early which I very much liked as you could delay farming M+ before 2 heroic raid clear.

Easiest solution to lack of tanks is to play a tank.

Or… Get this, they would just run with guild or friends moreso then they do now.

Or you could just try healing. I think it’s pretty fun and had the most fun getting my portals this season.
