How to fix CONNECTION ISSUE TODAY with Bnet and wow

So, since Blizzard is slow to even admit there IS a problem, let alone fix the problem, I went ahead and fixed it myself. Just FYI, the connection issue today is a problem routing between internet providers (in my case, Tfiber) and the authentication servers.

If you try a hotspot, you’ll find you can login. So, how to fix the fiber?

Install Cloudflare WARP (not called Cloudflare One). Enable it. Fixed. That’s it.

Cloudflare is free, changes the routing so you can reach the server, and you’re logged in.

You’re welcome, dudes. Blizz, you suck. You could have announced this or had someone fix it HOURS AGO. Now that I’ve got it running, I have no time to play and have to go to work. THANKS AGAIN.

Good God, thank you. This instantly worked for me.

Worked instantly.

Sigh, Thank you for your time and effort. This works perfectly. To be fair Blizzard is a small indie game company, can’t expect them to know what they are doing most of the time.

Dude you are awesome thank you so much!!

Thank you! I don’t know why I didn’t think of using a VPN.

Dude, I could kiss you on the mouth right now. Thank you.

FINALLY!

A fix!

Thank you for being FAR more awesome than whomever at Blizz thought it was a good idea for us to no longer be able to have support staff to get in touch with.

Any suggestions for the rest of us who don’t have a VPN?

Great news: you don’t need to already have a VPN! Cloudflare WARP is free, does not require a sign-up, and creates the alternate route itself. Install WARP from Cloudflare, connect it, then launch/reconnect WoW from all the way out on the desktop. That’s what fixed it for me.

The whole process took just a couple of minutes, and my connection has been beautiful ever since.

My Cloudflare WARP is stuck on ‘Setting things up, this only take a moment…’ FOREVER on Mac

It works for me but I am uncomfortable using this with how trigger happy the AI is these days.

Yep! Glad it worked for you too.

a true hero

Huh? This is not AI. It simply routes your Internet traffic. It’s like a VPN, except you don’t get to choose the location.

This is getting ridiculous.

First it was patch day and we couldn’t login for two days now some random connection issue is stopping log ins, with zero word or workaround from blizzard.

Why am I paying a sub for this…. This company obviously doesn’t take this seriously.

Thanks and brilliant thinking on using this :stuck_out_tongue: community heroes ftw!

I meant their moderation of stuff haha.

This worked for me as well. speeds are not great and has spiked my latency a bit but at least I am in. It is strange that logging into the game didn’t work for me but the stores home page came up fine.

Thank you for this. This is one of my first forum posts ever. I had today off, could have enjoyed some serious gaming time. Instead, my customer support ticket is still not answered and I could have done this 15 minutes after the problem presented itself. The lack of customer service from this company these days in order to save money is f’ing preposterous. Incredibly frustrating. Day ruined, and I’ll get over it, it’s not the end of the world, but man is that frustrating.

Thank you again for your help.
