Clear exaggeration. Half the player base doesn’t even play a class that can use it and a ton of players couldn’t be asked to do archeology regardless of rewards.

I’m actually not opposed to this idea, but if you want to keep an item’s prestige ya’ gotta do more with it, and frankly there’s some items that will never be re-introduced to the game simply because of what those items either mean or work
But an idea of updating archeology, which Blizzard actually said that they wanted to do, but to introduce it as something more akin to the Secret Hunting community in WoW that seems like it’d be way more interesting
But no, the idea of “You got exceedingly lucky so you got this one random rare item” isn’t … the way to re-introduce items, it works with mounts because that’s the system we have had in play for non-current mounts at this point essentially forever
So … good idea to add archeology back into the mix, but your idea without having expanded on it further than that is … not good, and also why the whole aspect of archeolgy is kinda difficult to re-introduce in a way that folks would actually care about that profession (ergo why we got spades and other stuff like that in Dragonflight, rather than archeological digsites)
