BG’s don’t give out equal gear. Most people will never get to rank 10+ regardless and before that pvp gear is already beaten by pve gear for the most part.
Oh it most certainly does give out comparable gear all the way up to naxx. There shouldn’t be any path to that gear without the need to get in groups and socialize.
Only if you get into the rank 10 range, which most people will not do.
Ya… I’m thinking no.
You understand how ranking works right?
The idea of saying “well hardly anyone would get that gear” is not an excuse to be suggesting that the easiest path of to get that gear should be solo’able.
You get that, right?
If we’re defining effort as time spent; then yes. The Honor system rewards effort. A better geared and more skilled player still receives more honor in the same time-frame, even if every match is fair.
You’re viewing this honor grind as if the opposition isn’t the enemy team, it’s the players from your server who play your faction, because you’re competing against them for rank. You’re making enemies of your own team.
That isn’t the way this was supposed to work. You’re simply supposed to be rewarded for your participation, however much time you want to commit to that, over the course of the week.
There shouldn’t be a socially constructed faucet valve that allows players to control who gets the best honor – it should come as the result of a calculation between time spent (effort extended), and the skill of the player.
When you introduce the concept of premades, not all time spent is created equal – and that has consequences which are widely felt throughout PvP gameplay in battlegrounds, and which are inherently negative for all participants.
“There shouldn’t be any path to gear that the top guilds and cliques from a server can’t control; even if those people are completely horrible, and most people would choose not to associate with them.”
There is no easy or hard path, in this instance Tigol.
There is 1 path, and that’s by participating under fair circumstances.
Why not? It’s a pure time grind whether you solo or group.
Because then everyone would just solo in their little solo bubbles to path themselves to the best gear in the game until naxx.
So no. Not a good idea.
So you’re saying people don’t actually like grouping for BG’s?
If you want to be social and you want great gear, maybe you should raid.
shrug
People take the easiest road presented to get the gear.
They call this “the meta”
You know this.
So is it easier to take the time to form a group with a good comp to que up for bg. Or just hit a que button?
Take your time…work the problem, get back to me.
People like grouping for BGs… As long as it gives the best honor per hour.
If pugging became the best honor per hour premaders would pug, despite premade vs premade matches being ten times more fun than pug vs pug and much less frustrating. You are trying to force a ridiculous, unfun, time-intensive meta on us because you can’t cut it in the current meta.
It’s easier to farm honor with a premade team that has every possible advantage over a randomly generated one.
Who’s actually taking the easy way out, here?
Ya. I know. Welcome to the meta working as intended.
If you que solo, you are at a distinct disadvantage in farming honor. (I think there should be even more of a disadvantage)
Look. The meta is premades. Nobody is taking the easy way out, premades get good honor/hour and the best teams get the best honor/hour. Pugs make the worst teams by far and should, adequately, get the worst honor/hour.
In this team vs team game, pugs didn’t even make one. They clearly can’t cut it in the current meta, which is why they try to change it.
boom. mic drop.
And I’m saying it doesn’t matter if the meta for hph changes from premade to puggin, the people doing that grind don’t care whether they are premading or pugging anyways.
Then lets make a matchmaking system that generates pre v pre gameplay more frequently instead of the alternative which isn’t genuinely enjoyable for either side.
You’re not proving your a better player by joining a match with team mates who can carry you instead of having to pull your own weight in a pug.
If it’s frustrating to you to have to pull your own weight, then continue to premade and face a fair game that way instead.
The gameplay is obviously not important to you, Lease. Settling for dumpster-fire pre v pug matches and being satisfied with them demonstrates this.
Ya, they do. They will do what the easiest path to get the gear is. Right now it requires you to form groups. Through forming groups you socialize and make friends. By making friends you log in more, and your subs are longer.
This isn’t hard.
