Just my opinion, But There are a few reasons why Void Elves ( Ren’dorei) might be might not be as popular as people hoped, but are being created for a few different reasons, For me I created mine due to the fact I’m a Silver Covenant High Elf Fan and maybe one day the customization may come so I will be able to play Silver Covenant A High Elf in the Alliance. Then there are those who like the goth/emo look thinking it looks cool not knowing their story/lore, Then there are those who accepted what the devs dumped on them (A Bad Alternative/compromise for Playable Alliance High Elves). imho
Gotta remember that Void Elves are behind a time gated rep wall of an old expansion
They are the only elfrace I actually want to play.
Just curious, why?
He said most popular allied race.
If you look at just 120s and Alliance, Void Elves are the 4th most popular over all. That’s pretty crazy considering how new they are.
I can tell you from my perspective that they got me, a life long Horde player, to switch to Ally almost fully in BFA.
Doh! Yeah. Read that as Alliance. My bad.
They are the goth/emo version of the Horde’s anime elves…uh, I mean Blood Elves. Maybe that should have been reversed…
The void blood elves value is the blood elf model that Blizzard gave them.
The rest?
Nor lore does this miserable placebo have it, since it was something rushed.
And a bunch of defecting blood elves have no chemistry with the alliance.
Void belves were created with such disinterest in blizzard, that people need to achieve the exalted reputation with a group in Argus, with which void blood elves have no part.
The same group that has no presence in the expansion where we see the High Elves placeholder being used by players.
like for we are doing a My Chemical Romance choreography this emos…
It’s amazing then how many people who play this game aren’t so serious about the lore, which is a good thing considering the ‘lore’ of WoW just isn’t all that to begin with. Void Elves are popular and despite the ‘lorists’ who think they’re better than anyone else who plays this game for other reasons.
I like me.
But in all seriousness, I wish my Blood Elf could get these facial hair options. Actual hair! Covering the lip!
Does look amazing!
Void blood elves could have been written better so as not to be a vomit in a matter of lore.
But as they are a race made to be a purple version of blood elf, they could come wrapped in aluminum foil and no one would care about how little detail or relevance they have to the story.
If blizzard wants a super sayajin in the game, she can and certainly not many people will care that they have nothing to do with warcraft.
But it would be good at least for Blizzard to do his part and create a good story to introduce something, even if it’s to use the cool rule.
Excuse you. I am a very delightful shade of blue.
I am hoping they’ll add more story for all the races who haven’t gotten as much as others. The core races are going to have more than any allied ones, but some get more than others and I think that’s what blizz was thinking. As much as they’d like to give all the races the same attention it’s just not possible. So even like not all core races get the same amount of story, not all allied races are going to get the same amount.
You are delightful indeed!
Yeah the process of going to Argus on my boosted character was one of the most confusing 2 hours of my life. I finally just said f it and set it aside. Decided to max out my DH and then come back to it.
I don’t understand how after 15 years Blizzard still manages to take something as simple as a questline and make it a nightmare to just…do it.
And based on how much blizzard has been trying to do very little for the alliance, I’m looking forward to a race of alliance blue orcs, with the same depth and importance of void blood elves.
Just the shell. No substance or value.
Void elf popularity is somewhat negated by the fact that you have to do reputation grinds in order to access them. With that said I imagine they’d be more popular if they were available like any of the other races that don’t require grinds to get in to. However since Blizzard needs to extend play times because the fun isn’t here like it used to be the rep grinds stay to improve metrics.
Be sure to roll a Void Elf in 8.3 since we will be dealing with “Shadow damage”.
Void Elf Racial (Passive)
• Chill of Night: Reduces Shadow damage taken by 1%.
Better than 0% right…
