That idea it’s just never going to work The reason in TBC there’s a lack of tanks is because tanking and TBC was horrible giving them dual spec for most people that will allow them to just interchangeably switch back between healer or DPS or DPS to another DPS spec nobody likes to tank in TBC it’s just downright awful
I mean, it is extremely obvious that it will improve tank / healer availability at least some amount. It certainly wouldn’t reduce it…
You really have two main benefits to dual spec. First is swapping between PVE and PVP. This will likely benefit PvP participation more noticeably than PVE (PvPers will just show up to dungeons with proper specs). Second is tanks/healers having a means to farm mats / gold outside of instanced content. This allows them to more quickly pivot to one or the other, and i’d argue that increased participation in either is a good thing
The constant barrage of people asking for dual spec should be ample evidence that a large number of players are frustrated by not being able to reasonably participate in some form of content that demands a different spec. this is just an objectively bad thing. We want people to play the game. not to log out for 5 days a week while they preserve their world buffs.
Sadly they forced this garbage back in retail and we see how terrible its working. Hopefully they finally learn a lesson here, people don’t want to be punished for simply -playing different parts of the game.
Its not just about tanking. No wants to slog through old content for hours in a bad spec. it could be farming, pvp or raids.
OK no it’s not just 50 gold You’re assuming people only need to respect twice You can’t get away with doing one activity unless Is your spect for it.
Let’s just say for the 2nd argument You’re a tank like me I’m a tank Is a paladin tank to be more specific so for me especially it sucks.
Because a All of my best weapons Is our in pvp And it’s no secret it takes a huge amount of time to grind for a item.
Just for honor so what this means I have to a grind honor to get a gear set I can live with that But what’s not worth it is the fact that I have to a.
Is respect to retribution Is for pdp grind out a secondary gear set Then have to race back again again for taking Indonesians and rates and.
You also have another speck that you had to respect for farming and is farming and before you say it no you can’t get away with farming and your default tanking speck you don’t put out enough damage for it to be viable
And I know it because I’ve tried it And that’s before we talked about healers And I can say this as a tank too it sucks the quest on your own.
And that’s before you talk about the bots So that’s 150 gold I essentially just wasted for nothing.
And that’s before we talk about Is the faction in balance you could be grinding there for 10 hours straight for a gear piece.
And that’s someone that just had to do PDP for a weapon I know people that have to respect as much as Is 4 times a week minimally.
Yes this is more of a thing for tanks and healers and rogues But it goes down-the-line you can’t raid with a pvp Speck.
And yes it would help the tank shortage not solve it quite frankly the only way for that to actually get solved like it or not.
Would be for them to introduce wrath of the lichting talent trays and get rid of threat entirely because speaking from someone that is a tank.
Is and does a lot of pug tanking especially in heroics I can tell you it’s an absolute nightmare.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in groups that don’t wait for healers to get their matter or let people sit down together Mana.
This run ahead of me or start a blowing stuff up before my consincreate even hits.
You want the reason I’ll say it and I’m going to get a lot of hate for this People didn’t Is tank in classic.
It was all very proud you were ADP S with more health and armor I can say as Is fury arms Warrior.
I could put on hack sometimes just a shield and maintain a car in ZG.
Just fine So now that threat is an actual thing and people have to wait this speed runner mindset still so ingrained in people all they care about is parses and damage.
It doesn’t matter if you wipe it’s all about that parts Is which I absolutely hate no I’m not saying this is everybody I’m just going off of what I’ve seen and heard.
And experienced So unless you Is see threat completely gotten rid of as a mechanic Is either that or the implement wrath of which king talent trees which for the record I would be fine with.
Because if you look at the Numbers overall the classes were balanced at its best Is in Is wrath.
That’s not going to happen so yes dolspec will help the tank shortage there’s no denying it and it’s going to help pvp.
Is is it going to fix it 100% no because the only way that’s going to happen is if you want to talk about changes there would have to be a million in one.
Because quite frankly the only way to solve a good portion of the pdp problems You need more people on the servers and on the game and like it or not people are leaving.
That’s just the facts So yeah no dual speck isn’t a 100% answer but it’s going to to help gravely and make the game better over all.
And no that’s not just my opinion I hate we want to say that there’s been tons of these post tons of these forms.
So I say #Duel speck
After 200 of the same posts over and over again, I think the answer to your question is yes.
Today is one day closer to Wrath than it was yesterday, for those who want dual spec.
I’m against it being added to TBC because…
- It will turn the already loud whining for modern features into a deafening roar. It will actually increase the whining, not decrease it, so what’s the point?
. - I think there is merit to spec identity as an RPG element. Most modern players don’t seem to care about this and would probably just as soon have all the RPG elements removed from the game, including leveling, etc., to make it more like Call of Duty. But TBC was very much intended to have RPG elements, and the people who wanted a recreation of TBC, or as close as possible, deserve to keep them intact. It’s their only chance to play it as such, and it’s a small window before the game will have run its course and everyone moves on.
. - Unless they design a new system specifically for TBC, and add some sort of cooldown, it will make raids easier, and that’s a bad thing, because they’re already easier than they were back then because of the late patch and perfect knowledge.
. - The need for dual spec is exaggerated, IMO, certainly from a PvE perspective. Players don’t need to be OPTIMAL for every situation. It’s not going to kill people to learn how to earn gold without a DPS spec or to level a farming alt or to join a dungeon group as a PvP spec. In fact, the game was designed and tuned with that in mind. If players were tough enough to handle it in 2007, then surely today’s supposedly more sophisticated players can do the same.
. - History has shown that it won’t help the tank shortage noticeably. People who don’t want to tank are still not going to want to tank.
. - Wrath will be out in the next year and some change. I know that for some impatient people that seems like a lifetime away, but it will be here before you know it. And then you’ll get your dual spec, at the appropriate time.
People still listing the same sorry, defeated points.
While I agree that dual spec isn’t needed and don’t personally care if its added or not I want to touch on this point.
Spec identity has already been destroyed by meta following min-max players. For instance: Back in the original tbc and all the way until ulduar in wotlk Destruction was considered a joke spec. The vast majority of warlocks were affliction, and most hardcore raiders were shadowbolt DS spec. Fire destro was hardly played by anyone, full destro even less. Now with the meta players all you see is fire destro locks in spellfire robes and bis that some guide told them to wear.
Adding dual spec wouldn’t kill spec identity because like I said its already dead. I agree with all your other points though.
Blizzard should just shut it down and move on then according to you, they already did changes. Good run guys, but Arielba here said it, so it’s gotta be right. See you guys on the next MMO.
…also not like there’s a way to see where they have said they intend to change TBC Classic according to player feedback and the like. None of that ever happened because it harms arguments, ok?
No. It’s not about wanting something for nothing. It’s about how even back in OG TBC people wanted a dual spec system. Turns out people still want it, and it seems like a generally popular idea still. Wanting to fix a system that has some really obvious flaws doesn’t make people retail babies.
I’d honestly be fine without dual spec, but at least make it so you can load out your points in the tree then click a confirm button to apply them. Hell maybe give us the ability to swap action bar sets at the trainer too, though that isn’t nearly as bad as the pain of a single click costing you gold and time.
Those two changes at least would honestly just be QoL. Personally I’m in favor of dual spec flat out. Anecdotal as it is, vast majority of the people I know who play feel the same way. Again the #nochanges ship has sailed, with Blizz stating there would be consideration put into community feedback. Dual Spec is going to remain a hot topic until a >current< Blizzard post either confirms it or kills it off entirely.
Sorry for the novel tied into a direct reply.
thanks for your input, 0/10 response no useful at all.
Except fun.
Heh, true enough
You’re still trying to pass those polls off as evidence?
I already explained how you could make thousands of false votes with a VPN and a bot program to vote on it…
Are you really going to make me make my own poll and put 100k+ votes on it of the first day with the choises “yes, no, I’m a bot” just to prove the point? And have the bot endlessly voting on “I’m a bot” until it hits 100k “votes”?
Your polls are extremely easy to manipulate to show false data.
useless barrier to entry to playing the game.
If you join a group as PvP spec u are just a griefing the group, and should be kicked.
You mean playing the game as designed?
Also it’s not stopping you from playing the game. You’re chosing not to play. You can play In a Sub optimal spec, or farm to optimize your spec.
100g is not hard to get in tbc.
If you play the game enough where you can afford 2 sets of gear, 100g should be a non issue.
If you are pvping in full PVE gear, you shouldn’t even worry about respeccing just go do it.
Some classes pvp specs are very useful in heroics.
Example a SV hunter built around being a CC king can make heroics a cake walk for getting through the trash packs.
