I’ve probably run into 1 or 2 a year for report/ignore. It usually comes from people looking to get a speed vacation and purposely dishing out vile stuff just to see if they’ll get into any trouble. A couple times I’ve suspected it’s been an ex or sibling on someone elses account popping off a vendetta. Whatever the reason, if it’s over the top, it gets sent up the chain.
I don’t think I have reported or ignored someone in game since before Covid. As for the forums maybe one time last year I reported some but I don’t ignore people. I person has to get pretty bad for me to report them and/or ignore them.
i report all candy corn haters.
In game, probably a couple times a year. More if I venture into random bgs.
It’s a good question. And my actions have changed over time. When they first introduced the Silence Penalty, I liked it because each server could decide their own standard of what was acceptable. So, then, I’d sit in a main city and report people who were foul or baiting us to be foul or mean-spirited trolling. And I reported a lot.
Now the behavior has changed, in general and people have adapted. So, I have not reported anyone since Shadowlands and even then, very little. So, years have gone by at this point. I think that the Silence Penalty worked and really well at that.
most of the posts here about reporting involved bigotry, racism.
Those aren’t " little things".
Others = breaking the terms of service.
Archie Bunkers in real life get one response from me → tossed out my door where they screech at me for taking away “their right to force others to listen to them”.
And no I don’t need the police to assist me in my response to real life mouthpieces. The mouthpieces are generally the ones phoning them.
Uncrustables are ravioli.
I dont talk to people and I usually just ignore list the people who annoy me in a general sense.
I’ve seen numerous posts in this thread where people admit to maxing out their daily reports, reporting for any curse word, and also reporting someone for spam if they say the same thing twice in /2.
I’d say not commonly. I think I put maybe three people on ignore through all of DF. I know for sure that I reported one in DF.
I rarely ignore.
You have to be a special kind of… you know what, to get me to ignore you.
As for reporting… been about two years since the last report from me.
And that was for botting.
Few times a week but i play on moonguard lol
Must have a hotkey
I ignore toxic players, especially in PvP. I report AFKers in BGs as well as players who throw matches.
I believe in freedom of speech and expression, so I will rarely report someone for being toxic. I can handle someone being offensive towards me.
Such as?
You’re wasting a report and at risk of getting your own account suspended since there are no rules against political chat.
Lmao imagine reporting for profanity when there’s literally a filter in the settings. Your reports are probably read and then laughed at.
Not in my experiences.
There are a whole unwritten list of words you can’t use. They aren’t against the rules, as far as I know, but they will also not even make it passed the auto-filter.
I have one post where I had to replace several words with (censored) so it would allow me to post. None of the censored words were bigotry or racism. The post was about things I’ve seen when I worked in media at the Pentagon.
IDK about other people but I report when I see someone using a slur or just outright like, saying they hate certain groups like someone’s race or sexuality.
I honestly only report for things that are really blatantly bad because I don’t think my report will do anything if the thing someone said isn’t really bad enough. So nah, I think the people saying that other people are being too report happy and reporting for small things are probably wrong in that regard.
Because many Archies intentionally bypass the filters.
A right to free speech does not include a right to be heard.
And a right to free speech does not include anything outside of an individual and the government. Blizzard does not have to give you any free speech. If you worked at your Pentagon, you would know this.
I have one post
Ironic.
I guess more correctly, “I HAD one post…”
I just looked at my activity, because I was going to see if I could link that post, and it’s gone.
No warning. It didn’t break any rules. I’m not in any trouble. The post has disappeared for some reason though.
does not include a right to be heard.
Well aren’t we lucky for the ignore feature.
A right to free speech does not include a right to be heard.
Why are you talking about free speech as if I had made any claim about free speech?
My claim is that there are posted rules, and that you can get censored even when you aren’t breaking the rules. I’m talking about real words, and not banned words that someone changes an A to @…
Your whole post reads like a talking point, as if you thought this was a political discussion.
