Proceeds to whisper the most soul-shattering thing you personally could ever hear in your ear
I report spam advertisements (runs/boosting/etc) mostly.
Iāve ignored less than a handful in the last 18 years.
I donāt, unless one continues to message me. Then Iāll just āIgnoreā them. Have not ever had to do that though so last time I ever did anything is never or so long ago I do not remember.
Still meet players which one could consider to be ātoxicā I suppose, but stay in social media long enough meeting new people and that is bound to happen eventually. Least from my experience.
(Sips )
I can still count on one hand how many Iāve reported since vanilla WoW and still on two hands how many Iāve got on ignore (1 hand still on the forums).
How often do you report or ignore someone?
as often as necessary.
that might be zero in a weekā¦or it might be 20.
I play this game and read this forum to enjoy myselfā¦not deal with juveniles with no self control and no social filters.
5ā¦4ā¦3ā¦2ā¦
Extremely rarely - I think I only report in cases of IRL threats of violence. In general Iām against censoring and think the best solution is people growing a thicker skin and using other in-game functions (like muting).
i very rarely do either. report is only for people saying nasty stuff in public channels.
i ignore a bit more often, usually if somebody is insanely bad or toxic in a key and i want to make sure i never end up in a group with them again.
edit: iām not sure the numbers, but itās only a few people per season, if that.
thats how I found out this game had a guild invite ignore lol
- guild invite

had to go looking to turn it off lol
I personally have all the general, trade chat turned off. Only thing I see is /s and /y. I never ignore but I do report when they decide to use those channels for āinappropriateā communications. Now, that being said, youāre version and my version of inappropriate could be vastly different but itās mainly if they start blasting curse words. I do curse but itās NOT required in /s or /y chat, keep that to your whispers or guild.
Every day thereās a guy in the newcomer chat whoās just dedicated to creating new accounts just so they can spam ā**** YOUR MOM!!ā. Itās always a hunter, too.
So likeā¦a few times a week. I almost feel like thatās just a tutorial on how to report people.
Thereās also regularly boosters in there trying to sell mythic boss kills/KSM/KSH to players who are least likely to know what that stuff is and be able to participate in it. I assume theyāre trying to cash in on a more naive market but like, it might be too naive.
I donāt think Iāve ever reported another player in my entire 17 years of playing this game. Iāve put spammers on my ignore but thatās about it
To add to this Iāve never had a chat ban in wow until SoD came out. And Iām not even sure what I said to get a chat ban but those guys over there are super soft
mine seems to be a 50/50 mix, politically. lol.
I just dont bother with that or the religious crap they ramble on about.
Iāll report someone spamming carries over and over and over quick.
And that bigoted, racist crap any time I see it.
mostly I tab out of chat in game and just watch the combat tab instead, if anything.
Too many foul mouthed 14 year olds trapped in adult bodies in game for my liking.
Ingame
report:
weekly = carry/boosters spamming trade instead of services
rarely = bigotry/racism (not as often as years ago)
varies with seasons: Trumpeteers report or ignore depends on their rabies level
forums
report:
weekly: bigotry / racism
ignore: forever (there really is only one setting)
daily:
those with screechy sounding text voices going off about their right to have zero manners, behave without any regard for others, and abuse the social contracts they keep ignoring.
I think I reported a player once or twice for being abusive in all my years of playing here.
Bots and scammers Iāll report when I see them or experience them.
My ignore list is really short. Only ones Iāve ever ignored are being persistently annoying, such as repeatedly initiating duel requests and one time when someone was hitting on my toon persistently.
And thatās it. Itās easy enough to ignore chat channels, the window is small and mostly I donāt see things as I focus on playing the game.
I donāt think I reported anyone at all through DF, maybe not SL. Certainly not WW.
I have one person on my ignore list, theyāve been there over 10 years, they still exist, and every now and then you see them indirectly referred to in trade chat.
In the past, Iāve reported people that I didnāt like in groups simply because it puts them on a 24 hour ignore, and prevents me from getting them again in LFD.
If someone is extra annoying, Iāll report the for the 24 hour time out. I typically never hear from them again, which is why my ignore list is essentially empty.
I will simply ignore them (not using an ignore feature, just literally by ātuningā them out). I donāt let things bother me, just a game after all. But I also donāt care if others ignore/report, etcā¦ I try not to go out of my way to incur othersā wrath.
Is asparagus a number?
Does everyone here who reports everyone for every little thing also call the police irl for anything that happens or run to HR and report people for everything?
it is unfortunate but there are lots of people who do this. They also donāt understand, every time you do this (especially w/HR) you are reducing trust levels with themā¦because at some point they become a nuisance. There is a lesson to be learned with the book about the boy who cried wolf.
i report ads constantly. i do my part
