Every game and every expansion as some form of fall off curve. Actively seeing one person quit is called expected, not some sign of the end of all things.
LASTLY, this game has mechanics in it to spread the load out on servers. you dont see people because the game wont let you see them.

Mine will. Sadly I had a 6 month sub and have 4 months left on it. But I’m definitely not resigning to whatever this expansion is.

I liked the part where you said “the community” (meaning “all players”) when it was really “me and about 1% of other players who agreed with me”.
I also liked it that you believe this “community” had a right to command Blizzard to change Blizzard’s game to whatever this “community” wanted. I can’t quite wrap my mind around that concept…but it’s interesting.
100 percent agree, my wife and I have already cancelled our subs that run out in January. The game has taken a massive drop in fun and replaced it with rubbish grinds and bad loot.
I can’t even do what I usually do after I hit max level and that’s go smash the previous xpac content by myself.
Everything this xpac is terrible, besides the art. Loot rubbish, lvl squish rubbish, time gated story rubbish. Unless you are hard core raiding there is pretty much nothing meaningful to do.

I’m not the type that threatens to quit a game if I don’t get my way, but this expansion is just unfinished, unbalanced and a downright disappointment.
The visuals are amazing. First few days I was impressed. Some of the new mechanics are great. However, it’s just a few weeks of time gated content filled with bugs and nasty imbalance. What do we get from Blizzard? Minor tweaks, but otherwise crickets.
At this point, I’ve given them all the forgiveness I can related to developing an expansion in a pandemic. Right now it’s the holidays and I’m sure most of their employees are at home. I’ll give the game until the middle of January, if I don’t just wander away before then. If we don’t have some serious movement toward fixing the problems, or at least some communication about how it will be fixed, I will likely just go back to binge-watching old TV shows until we can leave our houses again.

20 days on my sub. we’ll see where we are then, but ive mostly lost hope it will be worth a resub.

I’m expecting a very large drop off.
There hasn’t been any innovation to the game in 4 years since scaling came out.
Getting rid of the GCD and azerite doesn’t make the game that much better.

I actually thought Visions were better than Torghast. Because they were shorter and not just grey hallways.
That said, I didn’t actually like visions either.

Mine is gone in like 8 days. So, i guess i will need to buy more game time.

Laugh away, but it’s an absolutely valid indicator of general consensus for player opinion which may not be trackable through in-game behavior alone.
There are plenty of historical examples of Blizzard shifting direction due to outrage on the forums.

And every launch is shortly followed by a drop in subscriptions relative to the poor quality of the expansion. I expect this to be no different and I’m sure we’re see a huge drop in the first quarter of 2021.

They knew this xpac would lose a bunch of people because they knew they didn’t fix any of the problems from the beta , that’s why they wanted everyone locking in 6 month subs.

Anyone that thinks these types of posts don’t accomplish anything clearly doesn’t understand business.
Blizzard doesn’t read every post, but they certainly know what’s going down on the forums. The developers themselves might not care. Hell, many of them are probably pouting that so many people don’t like what they created.
You know who does care? Investors. I guarantee many of those investors read the forums and the sheer number of complaints is going to have them lighting a fire under Blizzard’s butt to fix the issues before their investment loses value.

i expect the drop to be significant – and even still, that drop will be propped up by folks stuck indoors thanks to covid quarantines without much else to do than continue playing a half baked version of wow. if most of us had other options for our free time in the next few months, it would likely be even more significant.

But overall, this xpac is great imho.
I did read it. It boils down to you subjecting yourself to a form of entertainment that you aren’t enjoying, there is no reason for that. Find happiness in whatever you do.
I tricked them. A healthy dose of raw gold farming on covid telework let me tack on a few months of that good buy token off AH game time.
So this got me to February to see if things improve (as I see it). Otherwise, yeah…I’d have been a block of time.
