How many people would the game lose?

PVP would be on fire basically specially solo shuffle man getting flamed as a healer is somethin else.

I don’t think you could just flip the switch like that after letting it slide for so long.

You’d need to gradually transition over a longer period of time, issuing consistently harsher temporary bans to give the community time to adjust.

Or else you’d lose like half the population overnight.

A lot of us just act nasty to survive a nasty place.

I see a LOT of clueless players who don’t respond to anything in chat, ever, and it makes me wonder if they’re kids whose parents have turned off their chat or something. Either that or language barrier, but that’s not super common and you can typically tell by the server if thats a reasonable possibility.

We’d lose most of the active player population.

If you get offended by what strangers say, the problem is you.

I think the game would actually increase in players. Maybe a short fall in population as it weeds out the toxic players but I believe it would end up gaining that # back tenfold in players that want to play WoW but community toxicity is a bit too high for them to feel it’s worth their time.

Don’t think you’d lose many at all.

The new rules would come out, a few days would pass of people testing the limits and complaining about the results online.

Most of them would just buy new accounts anyways.

It’ll never happen though, that would require actual GMs and not auto response bots.

That may be a healthy attitude to have on the internet, but I could do without people telling me to kill myself or even just to uninstall. I mean it’s just a game relax bruh.

They dont just ban you for the slightest provocation. They have what Blizzard used to have, living breathing GMs that investigate claims and talk to the people involved. At worst you would be taken to a GM space and talked to. You would have to really be a complete butt fedora to have it result in a ban. You would either get a talking to and a warning, or a short vacation from the game.

Stop passing around lies and slander about a game, youve probably never logged into.

Basically this. They take the time to look into reports. It can take weeks just to get an item back if you accidently delete something and you only get one chance with that, at least that used to be the policy. I am not sure if they will only do you that favor once policy is still in place.

Your post is toxic therefore you should be banned. The issue is always " who gets to decide what is toxic".

No need for someone to get suspended or banned for toxic “chat” behavior when the ignore feature is readily available.

Maybe if ignore was account wide it would work better?

Honestly, the people who report others for toxic chat behavior aren’t really offended for the most part. They just see it as an opportunity to “stick it to you” by reporting. A form of trolling.

A) This post is pure nonsense, this doesn’t happen, and B) devs don’t ban people lol.

I mean I wouldn’t mind people being a little kinder to each other but as the great Simon Phoenix once said “You can’t take away people’s right to be a**holes to each other.”

Oh lord. I smell a popularity contest over there.

…Welllllll… >_>

I know I would be banned because the mods here have some serious issues the first of which is not being consistent others include:

  • Banning for the use of words that are common to regional dialects even if used in a context that is clearly not “toxic/bad.”
  • One sided when it comes to political or social issues. Either topics themselves should be deleted or both sides should be able to express an opinion.
  • Not understanding that attacking an argument with logical reasoning is not an attack on the person.
  • Inability to understand sarcasm.
  • Over reliance on automated systems that focus on bulk reporting as the means to determine who to ban which means that if your opinion is unpopular even if its not against the rules you can get banned.
