After what Blizzard did to Legion I will pass on Classic now. I don’t trust them to leave it alone.

Since BFA isn’t much fun at the moment, Classic maybe Blizzard’s only hope to retain me as a customer.

I wish Blizzard was thinking that way. But if you read what Ythisens posted, it sounds like they don’t care about those of us who would rather have a separated sub.
Yes, they internally look at metrics, but who believes they’re going to admit what number play only WOW: Classic? My expectation is we’ll see a little bragging about how many people came back for Classic, but also downloaded and logged into Retail (because the flip side of those of us who aren’t sure we want to pay a Retail sub to get access are those who figure that because they paid they might as well try Retail.)
EDIT: Oh, and yes, I’m one who is only interested in playing WOW: Classic. The desire to go mess around on alts in Retail (with no BfA) “because I’m paying for it anyway” will be there, but I’m not going to give Blizzard that satisfaction.

In an ideal world we would have all the live content and classes and races in the classic feel and build. But since that isn’t a choice… I hate live…I really do.

Classic only. Zero interest in retail.
I have zero interest in the retail version of WoW. So when Classic releases I will renew my sub for that alone (unless Blizz makes massive game changes to retail).

Yeah, I would agree with that, I just wanted something so we can see what the numbers say just for people that log into the forums and feel like there should be a separate sub for Classic only.
I’m ok either way, but I do feel like the people that don’t want anything to do with Retail have a point that makes sense. Why get charged for something you will not use. Retail is ever changing so the 15 dollars makes sense. Classic just has to be maintained once they release all the staged content, so for the people that want a lower sub, that argument is valid in my eyes.

That is completely wrong. They would not be doing all this work to make all the stuff portable between live and classic if they intended to end with phase 4. Phase 4 is where it will end if it’s a failure. If it goes great I fully expect classic to be come the alternate timeline where wow doesn’t get nerfed to hell.

I do update the main post, but you can lose track of the total if you don’t update the counting as you go.

Stop saying things are wrong just because they’re opinion based - it’s not wrong, it’s a difference in opinion.
Unless you have some sort of inside track at Blizz and can prove it, your opinion isn’t anymore valid than anyone else’s.

I would be ok with that to a point. I wasn’t ready for TBC when it came out. I still had plenty to do. I didn’t even know what raiding was for a long time in Vanilla. By the time I got to start raiding I felt like I could play just the base game for a few more years. So, I wouldn’t be fine with them doing that again.
I want to play Classic for as long as I can play that content and get everything out of it. If they want to make other servers to transfer your character to, to further the experience, I would be ok with that.
They aren’t spending millions redoing classic just to let it run 6 months and die. They could toss up exact 1.12 right now if that is what they wanted. They are doing all this extra work so that they can make it a perm game just like the rest of them.
I will have one or two days a week I play current WoW (raid, mount farming, achievements), the rest of my time will be Classic.
As Banjaa said, that is just your opinion, which you are entitled to, but nowhere has any information been released to back up what you are saying. The Classic experience as detailed by the Devs, will be unchanged.
I suggest you go watch the videos of the press conference. NO-CHANGE is in the Offices they use. So, even though you are entitled to your opinion, you are just way off base in my opinion.

You hit another sore spot for most…achievements that you have to redo.
When I used to do vanilla I must have gotten 200 or more guildies attuned to MC BWL so WTH when I came back after a while would I get like 20 achievements for attuning a friend? Having to redo everything I ever did to get the achievement I should already had made me loose all in the achievement system forever.
