How many people truly believe Lore > Enjoyment?

Not me, because I realize classes/races are not a hive mind. It makes no sense to lock…anything.

Literally.

“But their culture doesn’t make sense for it” is a nonsense argument because races aren’t a hive mind. Someone’s backstory could be they completely branched off to learn something new.

“But they’re [class] and can’t wear [armor type]” who’s to say they didn’t train themselves on doing so in strength or something in the case of cloth >> plate? Who’s to say they didn’t go through weapon training and implement a special way to do things, and that’s why they have an unusual weapon equipped for their class?

That’s the problem. There is no ‘lore’ against much of anything in a world of magic and where people could train into anything. Literally all arguments could be rebutted by “my character trained for this and doesn’t walk the path of others”. So what if they did? It makes for more creativity than the lackluster box people are trying to shove everyone else in, to be a cookie cutter copy of everyone else.

I’m someone who loves lore. But ‘lore locking’? Absolutely not, because it simply doesn’t make sense in a world of magic where people can train into a class or worship what they want.

I’m also a roleplayer that actually LIKES the idea of creativity and doesn’t have the same exact story to tell over and over and over again unlike the ‘pro-restrictions-due-to-lore’ crowd.
