After two expansions of maining mage I was ready for something new. Also, wanted something that could heal. I was considering a Druid, and spent a good month or so leveling and working to gear one up (mostly due to the fact that Resto Druid is one if my favorite healing specs). Having a DPS spec I enjoy is key for me in determining which class I want to main, even if I want to prioritize healing more come SL.
Then pre-patch hit, and I tried the eclipse Boomie. Let’s just say that Druid went from a top-contender to a non-option for me, and I’m now considering Priest, Shaman and mayyybe Paladin.
I’m going to re roll huntard because hunters have the unique ability to put out target dummy dps tunneling whenever you move. the only way you can lose dps as a hunter are a few scenarios:
you aren’t facing your enemy like a tard
You arent capable of a very simple tarded rotation
downtime that every other player is subject to which isn’t a flaw of huntards
being out of range like a tard
improper gearing, wrong talents or gems, stat weights etc that every other class is subject to
Orgazoa made me despise the mechanics of balance tbh. I got to see every possible flaw of my class and watch every other class stomp me into the ground. one behemoth I could be top 5 in dps but that stupid cheese octopus with the razer sharp sFincter face? boomies are possibly the worst spec in the game. I lost an officer position in my old guild from it, because I got needled over bad performance on a boss I wasn’t equiped for, with every other class except boomies able to cleave properly and booms dots got nurfed into the ground for literally no reason…
we got our utility back at the cost of being an even worse dps class than before even if we can put out more single target somehow, experiences like orgozoa means i will probably never play boomie again unless it has undergone a total unrecognizable rework.
Hunters have none of the flaws of a boomy. Boomy is a highly proavtive class meaning I was fighting my own brain the entire time playing it. I looked at other ranged classes as too easy to play taking little skill. Looked down on hunters
now as I level my hunter I despise hunters even more but it won’t stop me from playing it. Iv’e accepted I wont ever play wow for lore or what class I like again. the only thing I will play wow for at this point is to get good at the game and use classes that actually work with how my brain is wired.
in my opinion, hunters even if they have way less sims than other classes will always be far superior because they never lose dps. I can literally run tight circles around peoples toons and have been booted for doing so while not losing a single drop of rotation dps while leveling my hunter. no other ranged class in the game can do that, and I’ll be playing hunter for ever until that gets nurfed and I’m not afraid to admit that I’m cheating in wow now because of it.
I am your typically LFR raider and don’t really do much but this style of gameplay is just straight up boring to play, If I run into an aoe situation I don’t want to have to cast wrath twice in order to get my starfall buff it just doesn’t make any sense.’
I will be trying out priest healing to see if I like it at all compared to Resto and if so ill just reroll a priest.
I’ve thought about maining Mage in SL since I think balance right now is tuned terribly in ST and the Eclipse system just doesn’t feel great.
But honestly it’s passable. I just can’t get over my growing fondness for Boomkin and Druids in general.
Yes, every spec except Resto seems to be a bit lacking, but this seems normal after leveling as Boomy in Classic.
Starfall saves the spec for me since I mostly stick to dungeons anyways these days and the eclipse system turns into a less stressful mini game between packs.
Eclipse is terrible. I love my Zandalari moonkin and playing resto in five-mans but it feels so bad to play. Nobody asked for Eclipse back. We just needed Starfall to be relevant and a few other tweaks. Ugh. So disappointing.
I’m going Warlock and Paladin most likely. Maybe I’ll throw in DK in there as well. Balance feels pretty bad ever since WoD which is a shame since I main’d my Druid since Classic. Blizzard needs to ditch the “balance” aspect of the spec, rename it and create something without the bouncing between wrath/starfire restraint.
Welp, I’m a feral druid and I’m gonna reroll rogue. Because when it comes down to it - Feral are just the rogue’s sad, sad uncle now that rocks back & forth slowly in a creaking rocking chair.
Balance druids at least bring something to the table and are still rather decent (Well I mean, you compare it to feral & it’s not hard I know lol) but it does appear to be missing that ‘yummy flavour’ so to speak.
Ill come back and admit now that ive played with it is not the worst and still playable atleast but the change should of never went through and it does feel significantly worse
