How long will it take to reach 60 if

Because of work I’ll be on it just 2-3 hours a day (weekends maybe more), but I intend to enjoy every single step. Don’t care if it takes 6 months.

FWIW, this is basically my schedule on Beta right now.

Knowing how to play and which quests to avoid… along with travel times and such…

Class: Hunter (H)

I got to level 32 in about 60 hours (cannot login to verify due to AV testing). I have not done any cheeses like farming SM:GY or SM:Lib. My current pace is 2.5-3.0hrs per level. I just hit a wall in Arathi Highlands (remaining quests are level 35+). I need to travel to STV next.

It’s a pretty decent pace. Considering I’ve gotten alchemy to 150 and Herbalism is sitting at 200… it’s a respectable speed.

I’m making sure to upgrade my weapon every 7-10 levels.

I figure it will take me 8-9 days played.
4 days to 40.
6 days to 50. (this range sucks the most.)
7 days to 55. (mostly dungeons for gear to push to 60.)
9 days to 60. (lots of crappy questing and grinding in EPL, or getting dunked in Scholomance)

EDIT: level 33 in 52hrs.

Just take your time and enjoy leveling! Why we trying to rush the content?

Depends on how efficient you are.

If you stand around killing goretusks in elwin forest then you’re gonna be there forever.

So for clarification we are talking 4 hours each night right and 8 hours each day on the weekend for a total of 36 hours a week? Or just 12 hours all up?

Fishing is really going to slow down your levelling, but ultimately if it’s something you enjoy doing it’s going to be a benefit (plus super useful endgame), and reading all the quests will take longer (although kind of necessary in Classic) but you will feel more immersed.

Honestly it’s probably going to take a while, but based on the fact that is how you want to play, and it looks like a pretty fun way to go about it chances are regardless of the time you are going to have a lot of fun doing it.
At the end of the day that’s what really counts isn’t it?

I’ve seen a few sources saying 30 days /played was “average” for someone not attempting to speed level, or around 15-20 days for people who generally were familiar with levelling at the time.

That’s not accounting for the fishing or walking to and from dungeons or reading the quest text though. So maybe if you just assume the 30 days?
With that being the case, it would be about 20 weeks of 36 hours a week playing to get the 720 hours of game time to hit 60.

**Edit:**A speed runner posted 4 days and 20 hours from 1-60 as being “the world record” back in 2007. See below video.

There is obviously great variance depending on how you spend your time and how well you know the quests etc.

As people have pointed out, not wasting time on quests that send you back and forth between zones will really speed up the levelling process, as will not buying unnecessary skills etc so that you can afford a mount as early as hitting level 40 as possible.

The longer time you spend walking, the longer it will take to level is a general rule of thumb.

@fanghelm

WORLD RECORD: (~117 hours) 4 days, 20 hours, 52 minutes, 34 seconds
CASUAL LEVELING: (240+ hours) 10+ days /played
You play 36 hours per week.

world record pace 117/36 = 3.25 weeks
casual leveling pace 240/36 = 6.66 weeks.

3.25 weeks @ world record pace
6.66 weeks @ casual leveling pace

With the math being stated.
At those play times between 1 and 2 months you will hit level cap.
My estimate for you is around 6 weeks (42 days) if you keep your death count low.

NOTE*: The longest leveling to 60 times are around 30 days /played if you stop to do excessive role playing +all professions +secondary professions +every quest +every dungeon +die twenty times or more per level . And basically do everything in your power possible to prevent yourself from leveling. Using this method will take you 5 months (140 days IRL) exactly, at those play times.

I remember taking 1 month to hit 60 on PvP server. I only push professions after hitting 60.

Because for some people, the challenge of speed is fun.

It will probably take a month or so OP. Keeping up your professions with your current level severely hinders your leveling speed, not to mention your limited game-play time is another crippling factor your speed.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, if that’s the way you want to enjoy the game and play Classic, then power to you. I encourage the way you want to play and take your time doing so.

I think it entirely depends on how crowded the server is. If you have to compete every single time you try to tag a mob, then of course considerably longer. The pserver I recently tried was so overcrowded that no mob is was ever alive for more than 30 seconds or so. It could take quite a long time just to complete simple quests. I think this is the biggest variable. Obviously the zerg will be huge so I would give yourself a couple months at least.

Even longer for Horde as they’ll be camped in STV.

Average player attempting to level to 60 as soon as they can with guides and quest add-ons will probably be around ~7-8 days played.

You do the math.

There’s a point to be made regarding PvP servers; outlevel everyone and you’ll be untouchable for a long time.

For PvE, there’s also the matter of being among the few at level cap, therefor making you high priority for being picked for raid teams.

There are reasons to speed level, but none of them I’m really interested in.

Took me 3 months on average, based on a similar schedule, level all my vanilla toons to 60.

That includes taking time to do tradeskills, first aid, some fishing and some cooking along the way.

Rocking AV in the level 50’s helps a lot too, and gets you great gear rewards.

The answer is about 2 to 4 months. Roughly.

Actually with this time the op is wanting to use. The time is more closer to 3 months.

So I have a pretty consistent work schedule , but when I get home then there are kids and their sports schedules and stuff… then wife aggro… etc

So for me… while I would love to say I can commit to 3-4 hours EVERY night… that’s just not possible… however I should be able to pull that off a couple of nights and then some time on weekends…

anyway… just jealous I guess

That’s some pretty hardcore leveling you have planned.

My guess is 4-6 weeks at that rate.

Back in Vanilla, I played quite a bit less than you have planned and it took me 2 months.

My schedule is similar…itll most likely take me 3-4 months to hit 60…however i am not really interested in molten core or ony so Im going to take my time leveling and professions, ill get to raiding when i can.

I “may” get to play 1 to 2 hours a day tops. so say 2 hours a day. so 3 months for me. haha.
