How long are they going to keep MOP Classic

Pretty sure I have you confused with someone else, so you’ve got my apology there.

Still, the questions are fair. OP was asking about the direction of the game, about the population. I don’t see either as a problem, clearly others do.

If you don’t want to elaborate on your feelings about the game, so be it.

I hope OP tries out MoP and has a great time!

That’s the issue. You don’t see the problem.

You think they just spawn WoD (or any expansion) Classic out of the blue and call it a day. Reintroducing these expansions take a lot of dev resources which means money. You premise is that as long as they make money they will continue - if the population is too low they don’t. That IS an issue. And people WANT to know what the future is. If there is no future for progressive Classic why would they play now.

Pagle alliance is well populated and there are many guilds recruiting. I would recommend boosting a char and then running the updated celestials and timeless isle for your gear. It will take about a day or two.

SoO starts Thursday so you do have time!

Editing in that there is a pagle server discord. It will be easy to find a guild either with discord or LFG chat.

Absolutely agree. Customers have a right to know the direction of a product they’ve invested in. Blizz is wrong by being so closed mouthed.

I think I understand your meaning, but I play MoP because I enjoy the game and the people I play with. Not every player needs to know the future of a video game.

I don’t think it comes with no cost. I think they’ve determined that the benefits justify the costs.

I have followed you in other threads discussing the programming side, and differences and complexities as they grow between expansions, and you’ve talked specifically about how WoD starts using different hardware, software, etc. I don’t pretend to know anything about that.

But purely on the business side of things, they are creating a cookie cutter product that they can use over and over again, keeping people from playing on private servers, giving them the early WoW content they want. The roadmap I mentioned earlier. They never thought about this the first time around, because there had never been anything like WoW - except Everquest - who only recently figured out that TLP progression servers were something that people want because they created private servers.

I was in a topic on the TBC-A earlier today, someone wrote about changes they’ve made to the server architecture or something, which seems like they are already implementing their plans earlier. They have learned how to make things more seamless between Classic, TBC, and eventually WoTLK-A.

It’s the same cookie cutter that Daybreak developed for Everquest, to crowd out the Project1999 people. To monetize their IP, to keep people playing multiple versions of their game. Only Blizz has their numbers, and my premise is sound. If they weren’t meeting their goals they’d have already shut down these services. But they haven’t, which means they likely won’t.

No, while I realize I don’t understand the programming or network stuff, the business side stuff just makes sense. They did a Legion remix, right? We’re 100% going to WoD, then Legion. Maybe it stops there, I don’t know. But they’re learning, perfecting the transitions. Count on that.

With respect to their communication? We agree 100%. If they want to keep Classic+ quiet, fine, but at least say something about the Classic ‘roadmap’ publicly.

Hope that made sense, I had about 5 minutes to response before I gotta leave work.

Thank you for this insightful post! It works perfectly if you just change to the opposite meaning your trying to make, voila!

WoD classic is next i can almost guarentee 100%

I think the state of the servers after maintenance kind of proves my point lmao

If this happens after blizzard told us it never would, there will be a lot of unhappy people out there.

Yeah, I know. But given they are a greedy company and greed is the only reason to do this. I suppose if they do this with Classic 2019 the next thing will be to have a paid transfer from Classic Anniversary into Retail. And later new progressive realms, with the same transfer thing.

Who knows, maybe they are not that greedy and make Classic 2019 end on Era servers from whatever expansion is the end of the road.

No new ERA servers of any kind. EVER.

I love mop pvp but I just don’t want to invest alotnof time into leveling a toon to have it be worthless by the time im lvl cappef..thanks for the feedback though and I may give it a shot

This is a game. If you enjoy playing it the time is well spent. If you do not …it is not.
