How is Xuen pronounced?

Well sensual songbird, we could stay just a little longer. I worry his meltdown may actually harm himself, I would shudder to think what would happen then.

OP, just put 毻 into google translate and have it pronounce the character. It should be a close approximation of what Xuen sounds like.

Go ahead and quote my edited post.
Go go, go ahead. I edited nothing tentacleman.

GHOTI and FISH are pretty much the same word with english pronounciation, why extend the failure instead of learning correctly by making up words for the pronounciation of Xuen?

And where exactly in that quote did I say Xuen is Japanese?
Pretty much you assuming it, and I don’t think you’re that short minded so I’ll take it as what is more obvious, just you trying to provoke.

An english speaker talking about phonetical pronunciation?
Door and blood, both have middle oo yet sound completely different.
You guys need to start from scratch.

Yes you did, I watched you love. All posts on the forum have a one minute grace period where alterations do not show up if you have corrected yourself. I am not sure why you trying so desperately hard to convince us of things we can see with our own eyes.

You make me sad, love. So desperate. So passionate. All for the wrong reasons.

There’s bound to be a voiceline in game where someone talks about the aspects. I’ve definitely heard Yulon and Niuzao said, so we should be able to crowdsource finding the other two also.

Well then go ahead and point out which post I edited.
Perhaps you confused it with someone else’s, those tentacles can get really mischievious blocking your sight.

Which is why we have phonetical pronunciations, genius.

And OP, since our smug little five language knowing Orc refuses to help you
 here’s a post I found from a while ago that.might help:

Hi I am a chinese from Singapore, long time reader of MMOC. There are 2 ways to pronounce this name depending on what Blizzard intends to use. There is no such word ‘Xuen’ in chinese pinyin, its either Xuan (玄) or Xu En (ćŸæ©).

  1. Xuan (玄) is pronounce as Sh-when, Shwen ~

  2. Xu En (ćŸæ©) is pronounce as " She (with lips forming an ‘o’)" " Urn (yes the vase)"

Well considering the origional question was how to pronounce Xuen

Your response after people try to help the OP

It is easy for people to surmise that you assumed that Xuen is Japanese.

You are doing it again, the projection and deflection. Try harder, love.

Well, my bad, it’s so natural for me that assuming such a misunderstanding didn’t even cross my mind.

I am now terrified and it’s not projecting.

Quite close but a bit lacking in the “Urn” part.
You guys sure have a terrible time pronunciating words.

I still think it’s 毻 instead of 玄, Xuan is farther from Xuen than Xun. But Blizzard has never been known for good Chinese.

The second part is “en” as in 恩 in Mandarin, but I don’t think Singapore speaks standard Mandarin, maybe think about that?

*Pronouncing. For someone who claims to have a fluent grasp of five languages, you seem to fail at both giving a correct answer to the OP and using correct words.

And maybe if you’d actually help instead of acting like you’re better than everyone and insulting people, we wouldn’t be looking elsewhere for answers.

Either answer the OP or move along. Your insults and attitude aren’t welcome here.

This guy doesn’t know 5 languages. He’s lying to impress people in the forums.

It just keeps getting more and more complicated.
I’d say:
Shoen
Xu -> Shoe as in the feet thingy
En -> En as the first part of “energy”
Would be quite close for most english speakers but that’s as far as I can hlep

But I am and when I try to make people realize where the issue is coming from I’m met with aggressive comments.

I didn’t insult anyone, though? I was the one insulted and met with a “WE ONLY NEED ENGLISH, OTHER LANGUAGES ARE TRASH AND UNEEDED” attitude.

You know
your attitude is precisely why a lot of Americans don’t bother. English speaking is so widespread that most Anglophones can get by without learning a second language. When they do, people like you make them feel inferior and stupid for trying. So they don’t try. Who’s the philistine in this scenario? You? or the guy who wanted to pronounce the word correctly?

I am patient and accommodating to anyone who learns my language because they’re trying to learn my language.

The French people were SO kind to me while I struggled to pronounce their language from my American mouth, and I appreciated every one of their kind attempts to help me correct.

The Honduran people were kind to me and patient as I struggled to roll my r’s and double r’s correctly.

NONE of them behaved toward me like you did in this thread. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Edited to add: I lived in Japan for 3 years. I never gained fluency because there are SO many English speakers there, and they would practice their English instead of letting me use Japanese. That said, I did get fairly functional in daily language, and I pronounced “desu” just fine, thank you very much. It was still irritating me an hour later that you picked that word out to poke fun of (literally) 330 MILLION people.

I am really sorry–truly–that you’ve met Americans who were mean to you on the internet. I have, too. But seriously. Just wow. I have lived all over the world, and Americans are no harder to get along with than anyone else. In fact, our culture is generally a lot warmer than most. You met some jerks. You don’t like our accent. Noted. But there are a LOT of us. We’re not like that on the whole, and attacking a person (who may or may not be an American) for asking how to correctly pronounce a Chinese word
that’s out of bounds with the rage juice.
