How is running premades in RAMDOM battlegrounds fun?

why dont premades just go play rated? how do you have fun farming people with not even half your gear and no healers? you dont like pvp if you just want to abuse people… how is no competition in a player vs player game fun? just go run celestials if u want to mindlessly beat things up

Some day I’d love to make a thread talking about all of the different groups of people that do PvP and why they do it. I’m guessing you’re talking about 40 person EBG premades?

a) Maybe 15% of them are there for Bloodthirsty, and Blizzard has largely seen how that achievement creates weird behaviour and has mostly discontinued mega-PvP achievements like that.

b) Another 5% are there for things like bloody coins.

c) Around 50% are there for some combination of a sense of community, boredom, or just wanting to do something instead of read trade chat for the evening.

d) 15% are messy drama people that love messy drama and making messes and being dramatic.

e) 20% are people that like to watch the messy drama people whom love messy drama.

f) About 5% style themselves battlefield commanders, or they just enjoy leading others.

g) Another 15% are there just to check things out and see if the scene is what they’re looking for.

h) Usually about 5% or so are looking to get achievements, some of the AV and Ashran stuff can be a little tricky.

i) Another 10% are PUGs that got into a premade EBG, sometimes they’ll join the ventrillo server, sometimes they’ll cap a graveyard and then the premade will report them AFK to kick them out.

j) 10% are ERPers, they look like they’re playing the game, but they’re actually having wild and wacky conversations. What happens in party chat stays in party chat.

There are people in EBG premades that enjoy treating others like trash, but their primary victims are going to be the other people in their own premade. Also, all of these groups add up to way over 100%, the importance of that is to highlight that it’s kind of a grab bag depending on who makes the queue for that particular match.

If you’re complaining about a premade in a 10 or 15 person BG that’s a lot easier to explain: people like to spend time with their friends, and cooperation with others is usually the best way to accomplish goals. Maybe unregulated competition just tends towards cartels and protection rackets. None of this is to say that getting farmed is fun or OK. The game stops being a game when the illusion that you have a chance is ripped away from you. But, if you want to defeat premades you do have to understand them. Also, if someone wants to abuse another person PvP would be the worst way to go about that; as your enemies, no matter how helpless, will always get to fight back should they choose to.

My apologies for the wall of text. Best of luck out there, everyone that isn’t in a premade sure could use it.

Because they aren’t good enough to do rated.

The ones who run regular BGs should. Some of them probably do. Next question.

A lot of it is they don’t actually want real competition. They enjoy stomping other players and having an unfair advantage.

I really don’t know if they are? There are premades in regular BGs too, which people get mad about but then if they say something they’re always gaslit by the usuals.

For eBGs, there are NO RATED EBGs, so it’s literally stupid to ask “why don’t they go play rated?” lol

The irony.

Yeah because saying premades are OK in regular BGs but not OK in epic BGs is hypocritical and dumb.

haha

Man, you’re a lost cause. The level of dishonesty you guys have is astronomical. Is it cope? What is it? A group of 5 players just queuing up together versus a group of 40 people stacking a single BG isn’t the same thing. There is nothing hypocritical about acknowledging something so simple.

When players are pushing 90%+ win rates, it’s broken. No decent person can look at that and say or think that’s good or acceptable.

I can see some of your points being accurate.

I will point out that this one is kind of incorrect

Most of these premades are not what you call “friends”. They are created within pvp “communities” by saying “2 DPS Slots available. Be geared” for example.

You join, sign up and dominate pugs. There is no “friendship” building in the party chat.

Of course there will be one or two premades who are friends and talk smack in party chat / discord but most are sign up, dominate pugs and leave.

That’s what most groups are created for. Massively increase your win chance and avoid losses by being in a premade and mainly fight pug groups.

It was well formatted and not mindless drivel so I read it :+1:

This is sad. I kind of wish I hadn’t learned this lol. It’s like players first turned their enemies into content to be consumed, but that wasn’t enough, so they did it to their allies as well.

I came back to get the Ivory Hawkstrider, finish bloody coins, and get achievements from the two new BGs. So keeping up on the state of premades is super helpful to me, thank you for the information. From what I’m hearing they don’t seem like groups I’d enjoy joining terribly much lol.

I wonder if creating a new true solo queue / random faction BG queue would help.

Perhaps displaying the premade groups on the scoreboard would help people understand what they were up against, so they could at least know they weren’t jumping at shadows.

When I used to play with TBT and Hydra I always got the impression that they won because taking even a poor yet coördinated player would achieve strategic objectives far better than the greatest PuG running around with its head chopped off. It’s strange to see that things have inverted: now we have better players banding together to enforce what is effectively a cartel against the weak. Weird times.

There are just a lot of old people out here now who need to utilize the power of family.

I don’t premade, because it’s pathetic, but I at least understand it. People always want to win. Even if the game is rigged for them.

What I DON’T understand, is the people who queu up for bgs and make absolutely zero effort to play objectives, or apply even the slightest hint of braincells regarding pvp inside them. Like what in the actual hell are you doing here???

Congrats buddy, you did no damage, interupted zero healer casts, and got beaten down into the dirt 10 straight times running in solo vs their entire group miles away from anything resembling an objective. “It’s just a game bro”…. yeah but you’re literally sitting down to play Texas Hold’Em, folding every single hand, and calling it a game. Like WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL?? I don’t understand those people, and there’s seemingly 5+ in every random bg on both sides.

Idk horde still seem pretty bad in the epics I’ve run.

To play with friends, the only rated modes during Australian times are solo modes

You don’t need to premade. Just run with a group of 5 friends.

That’s a premade.

Rated is 10 players and has to have certain classes and enough healers. It is also capped at 10 players. Those of us that do epics enjoy large scale pvp.
