I have spent maybe 5 minutes in my house in the last several months, and that was mostly just to finish some quests to get hero crests.
I started to lose interest in it after a couple of months, but then Hearthsteel killed any sort of motivation that was left over. I really have no desire to participate in more microtransactions for a game that I’m already paying a monthly sub for, as well as a new expansion every 1.5-2 years.
How is everyone else feeling about it?
I enjoy decorating it, but I feel like that’s all it’s for lol.
I got bored and made my house a maze. I don’t want to create it again so I’m waiting for blueprints to touch the thing again.
I’m still quite interested in it. I just now did a redo of my exterior that i’m happy about. Im going out of my way to make sure I’m what should be the exp of lvl 12 by the time patch 12.1 hits so I can be house lvl capped at patch.
I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. I like getting new items and redoing my layout. The recent increase to outdoor budget was awesome because I like making my yard nice.
My wife likes it a lot more than I do, and puts a lot of hours into her builds.
Neither of us buy anything from the shop, just in game things.
The neighborhood weekly is always a nice distraction for a few minutes each Tuesday.
We are both looking forward to whatever new items are coming out next patch and expansion.
Still too expensive.
I just can’t bring myself to engage with it. I’m glad about the smiles it’s putting on the faces of those who love it but something really deep inside of me just says “this isn’t right, this is wrong”. Oh well. My loss right?
I’m patiently waiting for Housing level 10, 11 and 12 to be released before I get interest again on working on my house. but I suspect as soon as those are released, I’ll still not work on my house anymore because something else new will come out that I am waiting for and not want to rebuild my interior yet again.
I was very hyped, and still somewhat hopeful (though diminished) for the future. Right now though it’s still a very unfinished underwhelming system that needs bug fixes and more qol updates.
I’m having a blast with it! Experimenting a bit with one of my houses on the Alliance side since I’m struggling with it on the Horde side, but given the tools we get access to in 12.1 - it’ll be a blast to finish my Horde interiors!
I will be able to copy stuff and not have to rebuild everything in minisclue detail for the umpteenth time! It is a hassle when you get a good idea, fail to actualize it, need to rebuild stuff, realize you want to mirror a bunch of stuff, but can’t get it quite right.
It’ll be awesome to have tools like the copy and paste ability to fix at least some of these things!
It’s like that family member that you don’t like so you just threw them into a horrible government funded retirement home. And have zero plans to ever visit them again and hopefully someone will pick up their belongings after they pass on.

I got my house planted so I could finish the intro housing quest, and never stepped foot in it ever!!
Next year I’m gonna not step foot in it either!!

Fun stuff, waiting on blueprints to switch things up, I heard you could use in-game gold to get the hearthsteel points but haven’t looked into it.
It is designed for players who like world of Warcraft but without any dungeon or raids.
I have never done a single pet battle quest. I can’t be asked to do housing and decor. My plot is still vacant and quest is still in my quest log.
I don’t spend a lot of time tinkering with my house or hanging out in it, but I added a few new fences, a stook of hay bales and a few odds and ends to the outdoors of my Founder’s Point home when 12.0.7 increased the cap outside. I may need to cull some decor if I want to add lawn sheep and a few chickens in 12.1
I’ve spent much of the last day or so going around fixing fences and making incense. If needed I can single-handedly complete the endeavor for my neighbourhood, but I hope I don’t need to.
My storage is passively creeping closer to 5000 (thank goodness the cap was raised to 7500, but it still feels like a brick wall out there I’m trying to avoid crashing into)
My exp has been pre-farmed for 12.1 so I’m good to go unless there are last minute tweaks to how much it costs to get to lvl 12.
I’m not spending any money in the shop and I’m a bit fearful that ultimately that will be the metric by which housing will be judged.
I finished the layout on one and now its just the system limitations that keep me from regaining any interest.
Like if I know they’re going to improve the system, why would I hassle myself making stairs, making mosaics, making skyboxes. I’ve had wow since vanilla without housing, I can go another 5 years. When I finish off my next house I want to leave its structure largely untouched so long as I keep playing, therefore its worth waiting until the system is actually capable of allowing me to structure it the way I want.
