Nod, I don’t pay attention to people known as trolls. I read a little of what was said and then started seeing replies that attacked back. After about 15 comments I decided to reply. Which makes me guilty of not getting the gist of the entire argument.
But as someone with disabilities and knowing that other people have other situations that make doing certain content harder for them, it has been a common theme to put down players for wanting a different kind of challenge for those that don’t do group content because they don’t want to ruin other people’s fun.
As someone that use to love offline gaming, it feels a lot of today’s games require you to interact with players online, an offline type of campaign / story just seems non-existent anymore, compared to the 80’s and 90s. Don’t get me wrong, I do like online gaming and interacting with players, just that some players seem more vicious.
There are a number of hurdles to creating challenging solo content in the mmo genre, most importantly getting comparable difficulty for each of the many classes and specs. I can see why blizzard have somewhat undershot on delves, choosing not to have them give mythic ilvl rewards, because they’re not confident they can provide a tailored solo experience of consistent and comparable difficulty to justify it.
There’s also the vocal group, minority or otherwise, who in suggesting higher ilvl gear for solo content aren’t asking for more difficulty in that content to make it comparable to the ilvl they want to consistently be rewarded with, they just want the ilvl.
It’s made the whole “solo content” debate somewhat of a toxic minefield. I’m looking forward to delves, I’m just also hoping the ilvl reward to difficulty ratio is somewhat comparable to other content that awards that item level, and that people who are experiencing that level of difficulty in WoW for the first time rise up to meet it more than demand it be brought down to their level.
Also I hope levels 9-13 offer me something to sink my teeth into, if only for the first few weeks before the general population starts having the chance to overgear it
This is my biggest issue w end game delves. Leveling delves are fine, but end game are very gimmicky, w some classes having an easier time than others.
Because of this I wouldn’t expect them to be extremely difficult. Likely more than we’ve ever seen in solo content before, but between gradually increasing ilvl and bran’s power increasing each week I suspect as long as you’re mechanically competent and can somewhat execute your rotation you’ll get it down eventually.
I never got around to trying the beta personally, but from what I’ve heard, the tuning is still very much a work in progress and it’s not clear where it will end up (both overall and for specific classes, assuming they even try to do class-specific tuning)
Difficult enough to earn heroic level raid gear from the vault every week… Can’t really get more specific than that. Whether that is difficult will depend on class, gear, and the player.
See the problem with that is that OP is on a posting spree calling everything in the game too easy despite not doing said content they are calling easy.
So do you see how it can be difficult to take this question for anything else than a follow up of that, if Mythic raiding is ‘too easy’ according to OP, then what is the question about Delves difficulty going to lead to?
oh vomit.
I was hoping the same…like AI dungeons or something, more or less.
Those puzzle things are ok the first 25 times, then BORRRING after that.
I could only do so many of the dragon races too before the boredom took over.
The climbing lasted about two more weeks before that got bland enough to stop.
