Layers 8/8.
Done, easy.
THE QUEST allows you to break it up. Actual PROGRESSION and work towards the achievement DOES NOT.
The quest wants three quest-item-drops, which are dropped in order by any TC bosses, tackled at any time. So you can kill a boss on level 6 for the first item, leave, reset, do it again for the second item, and again for the third. That works ONLY for the quest credit, NOT towards any other form of completion.
Layer 1. Visions were 100 times more engaging. Won’t be returning.
Soloed all 8 layers as a feral. Ivl 202. Layer 8 took several attempts. I still just use my travel form in the maw.
Just layer 1 for the quest so far.
I’m a big pet collector so I’ll probably do layer 2 this week even though I found it to be way too long and a bit boring.
I cleared it all as 203 Demo. I’ve seen one other person with the Corridor Creeper. I need a maw hound battle pet now. If you’re a warlock and your pet loses it’s infernal intimacy stacks on the the last few floors, your run is over with.
Ahhhh I see, ty for the clarification. I really wish they would make it so it does save after completing floors… kind of like how raids work, killing a boss is saved until weekly reset.
The fact I have to do 18 floors straight without stopping is really what keeps me from putting any effort into TC.
my recommendation is to grab a group of at least 2 other people (you don’t need a full group, 3-4 is fine.) That’s how i completed layer 8 it was grueling but not super hard.
It’s an RNG fest. Completion of the higher layers had a lot to do with which final boss you got. Maw of the Maw or Grand Malleare would be a lot different than Corrus or Kosarus.
Cleared the first five layers no problem so far. Plan to do 6 tonight, and hopefully 7 and 8 tomorrow.
Biggest hurdle so far has been finding the free time for it.
Twisting Corridors isn’t terribly hard. Just very time-consuming.
All runs eventually get tipped over the critical mass point where you basically have all the class powers & whatever stat powers you have… and just steamroll through stuff.
Layer 8 floor 18 bosses have about 8 million HP. Some of them are unkillable even with decent powers. Decayspeaker is a punching bag.
Yep, pretty much this.
Literally a waste of time. I’ll never set foot in the maw ever again, not even for the weekly souls. I don’t care.
This expansion is a huge bust.
Finished Layer 7 last night. Gonna try Layer 8 tonight, or over the weekend. I am expecting to fail. Hard.
I’m determined to try to do it all solo on my Enhancement Shaman main though, first.
Edit: only made it to level 11 of Layer 8. Woof. Kind of knew right from the start it was a failburger run. Oh well!
Got the mount.
Just layer 1.
I simply just do not enjoy Torghast, and spending 2 hours per layer isn’t something I’m too keen to do with my time.
That’s fine though. I’ve got the whole expansion to do it tbh getting the mount now vs getting it slowly over a year makes no difference to me.
Completed layer 4 today on my Destro lock (187 ILVL) . I switched Corruption into my incinerate keybind/bar slot so not to accidentally use it as i smashed 100 pots in the last 5-6 layers. I had 10x of the anima power that gives 20% bonus to you next incinerate for each broken pot/urn =200% bonus per broken. 100 broken pots being +20,000% incinerate damage, with the decimating bolt bonus that increases that incinerate by 200% = 60,000% incinerate for a 8.3 million crit that deleted that final boss in in 2 actions, Decimating Bolt > Incinerate > Collect 3 gold off the dead boss.
Finished 7, sitting stuck at 8. Running it as a solo rogue, the added challenge of losing powers midrun has been…frustratingly challenging.
One day I’ll hit the layer 8, floor 18 boss with enough DPS to be able to handle them and never have to go back again though
I don’t even know what Twisting Corridors is. Must be a Torghast thing.
Nevermind TC, I’m so far behind that I haven’t even gotten 500 Soul Ash yet. :D
