How Do You Sit Before Your Monitor/Keyboard? (A little "Involved"))

First off, I’m 76 with a C3-C4 disc problem which keeps me from sitting up straight enough to play without pain, and keeps me from playing as long as I’d like (sometimes all night long!)

So what am I doing to help this?

I have tried many desk chairs, those glass desk things to make the “Slide” back and forth easier, and pads on the chairs themselves. Nothing seems to help.

Anyone out there with the same probs as me?

Currently, I have moved my recliner as close to my desk as possible, keep my keyboard on my lap and my mouse on one of the armrests.

This sucks, so I’d like to ask if there are any others like me, and if you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. I put a narrow tall dresser along the foot of my bed and put a large tv on it, facing the bed. Hooked up my laptop/pc to it and good to go.

Thank you, Babybabs for the reply. I am currently 4 feet from my 32 inch monitor. I have only mono-vision in my left eye (no peripheral) and at that distance, I am still not close enough. My far-vision glasses help, but in looking for some wipes for my monitor, I came across someone in the comments who is using a “screen protector” for his.

“Well”, I thought to myself. “If they have protectors, might they also sell magnification screens?”

They do.

So this leads me to another question: Do they work for a guy like me?

Is anyone else in the “same boat”? I’m 76, btw, had cataracts (fixed) and my right retina scraped. They’re looking to do the left one next.

Thanks so much for your help!
