How do you price out crafting orders?

I’m starting to charge 10K for aspect tiers.

I do offer free recrafts with the price, my own mats, but i’ve actually run out of Mettle.

lmao.

I had a response in mind for this, but then I read

I’ll just stay quiet.

I will generally go between 5-10K. Some people decline my order asking for more, I simply don’t go back to them.

Most people are fine with that tip range. After Shadowlands I am not forking over 30K+ for an item I will need to make another of in 5 months.

This is very reasonable.

why would I waste time on someone that has no consideration for others. You think I need your gold?

usually some multiple of π

Most of the crafting I do is for guildies and I’ve pointedly told them in the past that If they spend money at the AH for quality mats I’m not going to charge them on my end.

Now, if someone else decides to tip me a big pay day? Yeah sure I’ll happily take it.

For public orders, I tip 2k-3k for crafted gear because I can’t guarantee the quality.

For private orders, I will always ask the crafter first.

I always provide the mats though.

Mats supplied: tip is optional, unless it requires going to brackenhide or the asssault. In which case 2k
Requires Insight: 1k
Mats not supplied: cost of mats + 5k for dealing with it

Total = (Mats not supplied cost) + Insight + tip

Just my two cents.

I always provide all the mats at the highest quality, and give 5k. Not had any problems so it seems people are happy with that.

For almost any craft, I offer a 1k commission and then I put in the note, “Don’t care what rank, but if you rank 5 it, I’ll mail a 2k tip. Do your best and eat your veggies.”

Most people don’t expect the tip. I had a guy in trade see it and say “Let’s see if he pays up.” I always do, if it’s rank 5. I like this method, over the trolling trade for a rank 5, because it’s a risk/reward system. If a guy who isn’t skilled enough gets to it, he at least gets the 1k, but the big fish get the extra 2k. That creates kind of a competition to get to it first.

Since I do public orders, I can’t specify which rank. I honestly don’t require a rank 5, so I’m happy with whatever. I believe this is fully embracing the RNG crap that Blizz loves so very much. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

Some people just straight up need to be banned from issuing crafting orders, 5g for Frostfire Alloy, with no mats provided, F off. The flux alone costs 12-15g each depending on whether you have black prince rep, and then the rest varies from 1k-2k based on material rank.

I usually have posted with all mats provided plus 200-300g tip. I would never post any order unless I had all mats for it.

Haven’t had any issues so far.

I usually get $3k - $12k for orders depending on what it is. If it’s LW and the altar of decay is needed, it’s always $10k min that I’m offered. Usually my JC patterns are the cheaper ones. I guess it depends on the server and how well known you are on the server.
