How do you make leveling fun?

Not necessarily true. Played since 08 and I greatly enjoy leveling. The journey is the game for me. I get into my characters and create a backstory and flaws and limitations. Even though they squished and scaled, I still find ways to get into leveling. Personally, I find it much more enjoyable if I don’t rush. Get lost in the art, walk, fish, visit taverns… I often find things I’ve never noticed before.

Like the first time in a new expac it can be fun. But with 20 plus toons leveled over every expac. Nothings really different. The meat of the game is level capped raiding for me. And hopefully a decent story.

I only do really minimal rping.

I enjoy the 1 - 50 leveling. 50 - 60 however sucks :frowning:

Fair enough, different strokes and all. I guess if you struggle to find joy in leveling, then you likely never will.

Grab a buddy and be dumb about it. “DUDE LOOK AT THOSE ALLY. GET 'EM!” And then make incoherent animal noises.

Oof

2xp, 4xp, or even 10xp!

I like this suggestion. There is no way to make leveling fun to veteran players otherwise.

OOGA BOOGA Mode activated!

“Ooga Oogah Booga!”
“Ooga Booga booga!”

Most people ask “how do I level faster”, it’s a common theme. If you’re were interested in leveling faster, there’s lots of resources about that, it’s common chatter here, all over the internet.

Giving credit to the OP, that they use the words that they mean to use, they asked for “fun”, not fast. They are not the same. I appreciate that most folks conflate “fun” with fast, as evidenced by the other poster.

But, “fast” has been talked to death as a general rule, and that’s not what the OP asked.

They asked for “fun”.

The story idea may have merit, not for me, I’m not much of a “make up my story” kind of player. But it stood out from the majority “here’s faster” tips.

Half the time im just chatting with friends in discord or listening to youtube. Leveling 30 plus toons over 15 plus years leaves me with nothing new. In the plus side one can reach cap pretty quick.

I’m not sure this is a question other people can really answer for you, OP. :woman_shrugging:

Everybody finds different things fun. You should follow your own gut and do what you really want. If you don’t know what you really want, perhaps try some new things.

Some people prefer to level thru BGs, others find it really chill to level with professions and some are all about the pet battles. Some people love the lore and read all the quest text while others AFK in town while watching TV on their phone and waiting for the dungeon finder queue to pop.

Myself, I like doing all of these things and just mixing it up whenever I start to feel bored.

Fun is subjective. For some, immersive is fun. For others, fast is.

Someone is not wrong for stating that going fast is more fun. Arguing to argue

spec heals or tank, pick up the zone quests, spam dungeons until your eyes bleed

They are for some people, though.

So is how to spice up leveling. Doesn’t stop ppl from reposting answered questions.

It doesn’t sound like you do. It sounds an aweful lot like you’re interjecting your own opinions.

So pretend that other people aren’t all like you and that just because you don’t find something fun doesn’t mean it invalidates it as a suggestion. So now you’re several posts deep in this thread and have literally done nothing but argue how someone else’s suggestion is invalid.

I don’t think leveling can ever be fun in an mmo IMHO.

Its just something your forced to do to get to the real content

Personally the only mmo i can say i enjoyed the leveling was swotor. Because it has a unique story per class with choices and feels more like a rpg then an mmo.

Sadly the other parts of swotor are not that good.

Wows very much a unique only once then its the same sandwich for every alt. It gets boring after x years.

I buy a boost.

Leveling is my favorite part of the game and I think it’s pretty great right now. I love questing and methodically finishing a zone.
