If they can tank I just do dungeons cuz speed mode
personally i ended mop remix with every class on both factions, so 26 level 70s. during remix you could level from 10-70 in 1-2 hours. those are just my remix toons, i had about 25 toons that are level 40-60 before remix too.
and there will likely be more remix’s in the future with a higher level cap.
It depends. I usually try and achieve multiple things at once. For example, if I’m in no particular rush, I’ll have each alt do 1 TW dungeon each event to get the 500 badge quest. So I’m farming badges and levelling.
If you’re not in a rush then yes, maximize rested XP.
TWW is different. You get bonus XP based on how many 80s you’ve levelled (up to 50). So the first thin gyou should do is level 5 alts to 80 and you should do them one at a time so each subsequent alt gets +5% XP (up to +25%).
I did Loremaster by levelling alts. Again, doing two (or more) things at once. A max level toon can do the quests in a zone faster than a levelling toon but with a little more time you get another alt. The gap is smaller now that you get dragonriding at 10 too. I’m not sure how many alts I got this way. Probably 15 or more.
TW dungeons for early expansions are my preferred way because they’re basically braindead and efficient
Remix was super-fast levelling for new alts. I think I got 35 level 70s out of Remix. The TWW prepatch was also pretty quick. I did that too to farm memories as well as the tmog you only got for toons below max level. I think I did 8 70s and 20 60-70s (mostly Evokers) in the prepatch.
Assuming the anniversary event follows previous events (which it might not, because it’s the 11.0.5 patch and runs longer) I try to max out on XP buffs. Anniversary + warband + one of the events (eg DMF, Brewfest).
I had 125 level 70s going into TWW.
I had 50 level 70s in March. I now have 125 thanks to Remix and the prepatch. It got mind-bogglingly quick to get to max level in 10.2.
Tanking TW dungeons is my preferred method for druids and paladins. Sometimes even monks. For this reason.
Time walk dungeon week. Catch it within the first couple of days when the queues are pretty short, you can level several pretty fast. Spam the far out of em. Two t w events in DF was just about all it took to level my army of cartoons up. Mixing it up with some wq’s while in queue makes it even faster.
But why?
I can’t fathom the reason for 125 max level toons, maintaining 3 is hard enough for me and raid/mythics aren’t even out yet lol…
Do you just have them for the sake of it or do you actually play them all weekly?
Don’t get me wrong, I only use 3 addons, and Altoholic is the main one. I have a good handful of alts, but when I see people say they have 60+ ( isn’t the max char limit 60?) I just wonder how…and WHY?
I usually level my main and a couple alts I know I will play a lot by just hitting my head against dungeons when the expansion comes out, grinding to cap in the first week. This expansion was especially good for that.
But I always have at least one character of every class, sometimes more, at max level pretty early on into any expansion, just because I like playing around with them. Most of those alts I log into early so they can start getting rested xp, then just gather/quest/do other chores in the overworld with them until the rested xp wears out, and log into the next. I have so many alts going that a lot of the time past the first few I power level I never have to do any work without a rested bonus.
How do you have 125 chars? Do you run 2 accounts together?
Very sparingly, and even then very slowly. I like to turn xp off and finish zones before moving on. I usually like to clear 4-5 zones by the time I’m max level.
I like running dungeons with xp locked to fill gear gaps. This also gives me time to experience and explore the world and the different class specs better, imo.
i think max is 65 now so you can 5 of each class, which is nuts, i agree xD
Probably multiboxing. I doubt anyone actually plays on 125 characters regularly after getting that many to max level unless they are running some together mboxing. But heck more power to them, as long as they aren’t using the key cloning stuff to do it.
I usually pick a certain expansion and then play through it, often with XP disabled as the danger of outleveling the zones is always present.
If I run dungeons, I disable XP too, it´s just too much XP in them but they are mandatory for professions or quests.
i just pick one based on current vibes. dont give a damn if they’re rested or not, leveling only takes 8 hours (less with the account wide buff you get for each level 80 you have)
Depends really. Maybe I watched a video of a class and it made me want to level one of that class, Or a race class combo I want to try. It can be just a mood of the day if I want to level this alt or that alt w/e, Or it can simply be I want the heritage armor so I pick a class I may not of played a lot or one I have because I can just turn my brain off and queue dungeons.
Why not?
There are a couple of reasons.
First, it’s actually the levelling process I generally enjoy. I got a bunch of alts from doing other thing slike Loremaster as a “freebie”. I enjoyed running toons through Remix with a 20 Holy Priest free trial so got another 35 that way. I farmed out the prepatch sub-70 mogs and got a bunch that way too.
Second, I tend to concentrate on a few things at once rather than doing a hundred things slowly. So, back when I was farming some mounts I was doing ZG (for 2 mounts), Karazhan (for 1) and Return for Karazhan (for 2 but Midnight is the slow one). You waste more time than you think with travel time. Kara/RTK were weekly but ZG is daily so I was doing ZG daily. At that time I was doing this on 12 toons every day and I would do it around a reset.
This way I got progress on something and then I moved on to something else. Like I don’t want to do ICC every week for 10 years. I’d rather do it 20 times a week for 2 months. You do it. You get the thing. You move on to something else.
And your gear just doesn’t matter for this stuff.
That being said, I had at least 60 toons in S4 who had 4-sets.
Partly but more as a result of doing something I liked.
Most I don’t. A bunch have done the Legion Class Hall quest line, for example. So those I’ll log in every 2 weeks or so to do the mission to get a Mark of Honor. That was my way of farming those before Comp Stomp. Even with Comp Stomp, I did the weekly 125 times. That’s 1000 Marks of Honor.
I enjoy the planning and organization of it. And the experience is chill. And there are a ton of players like me.
For some reason this post gives me the warm fuzzy friday after work feeling when everyone cashes their paycheck and meet up to drink beers and tell lies.
I do their intro storyline unless they don’t have one. I then either go quest until I hit the base zone cap and have a chat with Chromie or I go have a chat with Chromie right away.
Usually specific ones. Although as an expansion wears on I’ll end up with a few mid range, just because I have a lot of them. Actually I’m technically doing that right away this time because im just rushing several alts to 71 just so I can try out their hero talents.
I don’t pay any attention to rested XP and such, I just level whatever I’m in the mood to level
Solo its whatever class has the tierset i like the most after ive finished stuff in my main for a season, ill do professions and some quests or dungeons.
But most of the time i level an alt because my guildies are rerolling and want someone to dungeon spam with so i just choose a class i dont already have with a tank or healer for faster queues.
