I am super hardstuck on 1600 rating. I always get 2-4 wins against other healer specs but when I face another resto druid - it’s always 0-6. They can rake and cyclone me and I still lose, they can just heal in the corner - I lose. I control and interrupt them - their teammates are full hp. I must be doing something wrong.
My HoTs dont do much, my teammates are always about to die if I don’t constantly heal them. I try to clone or do damage and the moment I do it someone on my team is about to die. I tried talents on lifebloom, I tried talents on rejuvenation and it does not make much difference (rejuv is kinda better tho). I just don’t know what to do at this point.
Cenarion ward feels so useless. People claim it to be a saver but it is nothing like swiftmend+ns.
If I you gonna tell me something like ‘positioning’ or CCing I’ve already heard it all before just maybe don’t understand how to put it in practice. Also, I don’t understand when people get a window to do damage. I try to damage and… they just getting healed back.
Your hots actually do a lot but you need most of them up to get full mastery benefit (at least lifebloom+rejuv x2 at all times). You want as much mastery as possible. Your talents look mostly right at first glance, but I think wildstalker is much better than keeper of the grove rn, the symbiotic blooms do a lot of healing and add another mastery stack passively with basically 100% uptime. I like the forest guardian pvp talent a lot too, you get a lot of value out of extending your hots and it makes you a lot more mana efficient, the wild growth one isn’t really that great and casting wild growth will make you go oom really fast
Basically I try to start every game with Lifebloom+rejuv on both my DPS, then cast a regrowth on myself which applies the regrowth hot on them. Lifebloom counts as 3x mastery stacks, so you always want to lead with that and have it rolling (then you can micromanage by putting the 2nd one on yourself if it’s just one guy being focused down, or the 2nd on the other DPS if there’s a lot of cleave).
Cenarian ward is kinda useless, so I don’t really prio it and just use it when I don’t have much else available, but I think it’s still technically worth using basically on CD.
Use NS+AoL when the other team pops offensive CDs, it basically completely negates an entire go every 1.5min and your team is more or less immortal when you’re in treeform up to like 70% or so dampening. In solo shuffle 90% of the time you’re gonna be going treeform basically in the first 10 seconds of the game since most people just pop their CDs right off the rip
I also try to dispell as much as possible so I can build combo points for maim stuns, and starsurge more or less on CD to get the +25% haste on your hots (starsurge is a healing button that also does pretty good damage now). Your grove trees are also REALLY good for maintaining while you’re cc’d, and you basically want at least 1 out all the time
At 1600 you probably don’t even need to really be pushing in for clones on the healer unless you have a super clear opening, id just primarily try to clone the DPS that your team isn’t trying to kill to reduce pressure. If they’re pushing in on you, trinket+bash/main+clone them and move to another pillar (you aren’t night elf so you can’t meld+rake+clone, but this isn’t the end of the world either even though nelf is giga-bis for druid). If you’re finding yourself running out of healing and falling into just spamming regrowth, you should prob be trying to clone a DPS to reduce pressure, as regrowth without sotf from swiftmend basically heals for nothing, I don’t really hard cast regrowths much either, 90% it’s swiftmend+ns+regrowth
My suggestions are kind of all over the place, but just trying to cover as many bases as possible cause it’s kind of hard to suggest much without seeing a vod or something of your gameplay
For the most part, especially at low rating, you want to be defensive and PVE heal as hard as you can. Play back and position yourself behind your teammates to avoid cc. In shuffle damage/dampening is so high that you generally can’t afford to run around being aggressive as it opens you to getting cc’d and falling behind. Most of the time, you look for opportunities to cc as they come to you (other healer pushing in, melee dps being to aggro and ccing him behind a pillar). At that rating most of the players make a lot of mistakes and you just have to notice them/capitalize on them. But always make sure you don’t fall behind on healing because I’d rather keep my partner up and not lose than go for a cheeky clone on the healer.
Your biggest cd is Ancient of Lore pvp talent. Basically no one dies with it up. Try to match it with enemy cds. You can also avoid incoming cc with it. In between AoL you have NS+regrowth and Cen Ward. Try to always use Swiftmend to extend the hot on Cen Ward. I agree I think Cen Ward rn is nerfed compared to how strong it used to be but you definitely want to still press it and extend the hot.
Honestly wow pvp is pretty complicated to newcomers and rdruid is arguably the hardest healer be good at (even though rn it’s s-tier). You just need probably a lot more repetitions. Just keep q’ing, learn from mistakes, maybe watch some streamers, and you’ll get better.
Edit: also yeah play Wildstalker not Keeper of the Grove it’s better. And pvp talents Ancient of Lore, Forest Guardian, High Winds honestly almost every game. Might switch High Winds for Thorns vs double melee maybe.
Ugh that’s the thing. I know wild stalker is the meta but I hate it conceptually. I like little trees that raise their hands in the air. I dislike building around cat/bear forms because if you think about it, resto druid is the only class in the game that has correlation with nature and plants. Others transform into a cat/bear or cast star magic which doesn’t scream ‘druid’ to me.
And I like bening a bit off meta gamer too. I saw a few people build around keeper of the grove so I thought I could at least make it to 1800 rating (my goal) and forget about this damned arena until next season. But I guess I’ll give wild stalker a try. See if it makes any difference.
you still get them as wildstalker, and they still do a lot of healing
you also want to be doing these things as rdruid
but gl with trying wildstalker out! the ursol’s vortex root you get from it is also really strong (entangling vortex)
Nah I’ve just lost another 0 to 6. One player was screaming in caps that I didn’t CC and to report me.
I think this game is not for me I should just quit because I get more stress than satisfaction
dont heal shuffle
it’s the bracket for people with 0 social skills
It’s hard to tell/offer advice without seeing the gameplay, but I’m almost certain this wasn’t actually the root of the problem
