Why not remove it from the campaign, or allow us to auto complete it, given going off a WoWhead comment a GM had to auto complete the quest for another player. In which the quest is still bugged and given its part of the campaign and questline of the zone. It means you currently cannot earn the achievement for the zone until its either fixed or removed as being a requirement to progress through the chain.
We still have to do mechanics for a boss from four expansions ago because Blizzard can’t be bothered to fix it’s mechanics.
I expect this to be get fixed around the same time it’s no longer relevant.

I logged out near the dead Voress’thalik and came back 10 minutes later and he was alive
I’ll give that a try, side note I turned WPvP on to try and see if that would work, I have to stand near an inn right essentially for five minutes to turn it off? It’s been a loooooong time since I’ve turned on PvP in this manner, and I forgot how to turn it off effectively XD.
Itll count down on its own. The times I have used Warmode, I never got ganked. Seems like its primarily used these days for PvE sharding.
Meh, the scant few times I’ve had it on I haven’t gotten ganked much either, last time I had it on a dumb rogue tried to gank me but got spanked hard because they were under geared, and I have a lot of vers.
