Awful… Feels like I did at the beginning of BfA @ 110. It’s odd, because I had a 480 ilvl and having the neck/ap/cloak now.
As a MM hunter, I feel like nothing really changed at all (other than losing all corruption bonuses). It’s kinda boring, honestly.
Making unstable affliction unstackable and messing with the curse system has turned affliction warlock into a counter-intuitive spec. You literally have to re-invent the wheel and re-learn the entire system on every single fight.
Go into your spellbook and put Malefic Rapture on your bars. That’s your new shard spender.
I figure that’s the case. It’ll probably suck when solo’ing, but when I’ve got buddies it shouldn’t be that bad.
I’m not crazy about the boomkin changes. I now press my buttons in a pattern, which annoys the heck out of me.
Warlock feels mostly okay, I don’t care that much about situational curses so I’m not feeling quite as bloated as other classes. I actually like where Fury went with their unprune, shield spells, something I will literally never ever use. 2 less buttons to worry about, excellent.
I think the only unprune I actually like is mana gems for mage, and that’s purely for class fantasy reasons. Not sure why they felt like giving back a bunch of semi-pointless situational dreck, but people seem to be eating it up.
When I look at highly situational “silver bullet” spells I’m reminded of sideboarding in Magic: The Gathering, which is something I’d only do at a tournament and it still feels cheap if you win like that. I probably will just keep that stuff on a bar somewhere to click or move around if I really need to, and for the most part pretend they don’t exist.
Beast Mastery hunters have some new buttons. Of those some are completely useless (arcane shot) or have no need to be keybound (hunter’s mark, which is the perma-tracking version of the ability not the classic version).
So…so far it’s mostly the same.
Exactly. It’s like the toy in a happy meal, it’s junk, but if you take it away, the children will cry.
I’m pretty happy about it. My shadow priest is better than ever.
No keybind on hunters mark makes me infinitely more likely to play my hunters this expansion. I didn’t want an extra button for every single mob like back in the day.
Feels good to have abilities again. A lot of old talents are now baseline, I like it.
Then play away. The increased damage version of HM was changed to, and I quote:
“No longer a Marksmanship Talent. Apply Hunter’s Mark to the target, allowing the target to always be seen and tracked by the Hunter. Only one Hunter’s Mark can be applied at a time.”
No need to bind it.
(edit: I mean I guess for people who PvP they might need to bind it for rogues and druids? I don’t PvP though)
Is it on the global CD? I would think that would be a perfect candidate to macro with another ability.
It’s on the global cooldown.
Now that’s just stupid. Something that doesn’t cause or prevent damage should not be on the GCD.
Hunter’s Mark off the gcd completely would just make everyone macro it to every ability they have, which is the same as making it passively apply to all your shots. And that sounds kinda dumb.
Yeah, hunters have been asking for it off the GCD since it got implemented in alpha. Blizz’s response was to remove the damage increase from the ability…
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
I found the Legion-to-BfA transition much worse.
I like that Retribution Paladins get Wake of Ashes baseline, Consecration baseline, and (consecration) early in the toolkit to have a small bit of AoE.
Kinda don’t like how it is (currently) taking forever to build up Holy Power, but that is something that will fix itself as I level.
(of course, this only effects the new Paladin I am leveling, and not the current Paladins I have at lvl 50)
Haven’t tried any other classes yet because I am concentrating on the new Paladin at the moment.
