How do you feel about Blueberry?

Void Terrors? Same issue, they straddle the line between demons and void-based aberrations. I’d definitely be down for them being our official tank pet, though. But then, Blizz might have issue with the fact that they have the same skeleton and animations as core hounds, which are hunter pets.

Another option that could work is a Jailer. They’re pretty darn bulky.

Jailers would be pretty rad…

The blueberry? I mean… it’s there, and it does a pretty good job at tanking IMO, never had to spam health funnel to make it survive, and never had problems with the void walker in general.

But then again… it’s just there.

Give us jailer…

I really like him. He fits void elf warlocks very well. He’s the only pet that actually matches us.

I’d rather have a pit lord, but I’m all for felguard being baseline for all specs.

Right? How cool would that be? There are so many demons, no reason why we can’t have access to all of them. And, while we are at it, why do we have to lock companion roles behind a certain demon? There is no reason why any of the demons shouldn’t be able to perform both tank and dps roles (though admittedly it will be funny to have an imp tank but the comedic factor is only more reason to do it if anything).

I feel like there’s a misconception here regarding Warlock identity. Warlocks are NOT Fel casters. Warlocks are Mages who stopped giving a damn about magical taboo. As such, they are extremely pragmatic. They’ll use Arcane, Fel, Void, you name it. If it’s powerful, they’ll use it. It just so happens that Fel is one of the most readily available and efficient sources of power out there, so it’s what you see Warlocks using the most.

If you need proof, take a look at the entire Affliction spec. Not an ounce of Fel to be found. Void/Shadow and Arcane.

I’ve literally never had a problem with my blueberry losing aggro, and if he does die, it’s because I got ahead of myself and pulled more than the little guy could handle.

Well, we Warlocks don’t just deal with Fel and demonic energies. We dabble with fire and shadow energies as well. As we now know, the void can be tapped into via shadow energy.

I imagine that the Voidwalker’s existence as a ‘demon’ that can be summoned by the Warlock is a bit of an oversight that doesn’t resonate well with modern lore. However, Blizzard has been lumping them in with demons for as long as I can remember. They were even present in Warcraft III alongside demons.

It doesn’t stand out to me as a massive mistake, considering that Warlocks are known to be a bit more liberal when it comes to their acquisition of power; they will take just about anything they can get. When it comes to Voidwalkers, I suppose Warlocks are merely tapping into shadow and void energies in order to form a ‘contract’ with them and summon them. It definitely stands out, considering that the other entities we summon are actual demons, but I don’t think that summoning a Voidwalker is out of the question.
