How do you beat Cyclone

So I’ve been trying 2s as a Hpal.

HOW DO YOU WORK AROUND CYCLONE!?

Doesn’t matter if I bubble or Trinket you can Cyclone 8+ times before they come off CD. You can even chain them and they can’t be broken like other Incapacitates.

Can’t use repentance beforehand because it doesn’t work on cats.
Can’t get the jump because Druids can stealth.
Can’t LoS properly cause I’ll be forced to LoS my partner and then you and you DPS friend go to town on them meaning I have to move out to heal and then you just go Cat so I can’t CC you short of HoJ. Which has a shorter range then cyclone.

I just don’t know how to play against druids without just accepting that 30% of the time I can’t do anything. I can’t break it, I can’t play around it.

Please someone tell me how to play around Cyclone? I’d really like to know cause this is starting to get infuriating.

No I’m not a god at PvP, I start to dabble in PvP cause of essence and honestly this and Rogues CC chaining is making want to stop. At least with Rogues and well placed BoS can prevent the incaps for a time and they only have so many stuns.

I was actually having a bit of fun, even through the losses, when I was below 1.4k. But now I’ve just had like 4 games in a row where I was basically not allowed to play for 3rd of the game and then the pug I’m with leaves cause apparently I’m a bad healer for getting Cycloned all the time when trying to heal them SMILE

You can only dodge so many. The rest is on your dps to stop clones or mitigate/kite damage while you’re cc’d. Unfortunately 90% of lfg players just mindlessly tunnel vision their target.

I smiled at that. I know my cats are never sorry.

I would recommend the arena forums for more in depth answers and watching twitch streams for help. There’s several good HPals that stream nothing but arena, they can really open your eyes to what they do to be successful against all comps and classes.

My base suggestions would be LoS when you can, there’s always an angle to avoid the enemy and be in line with your DPS. If they come in range you should be able to HoJ -> Rep them. If your partner has CC like Poly/blind/stun etc they can chain that in as well. During these windows you should try to put out as much damage as you can. Windows like this is where Druids can really struggle because they have 1 on demand panic heal, everything else is HoT related.

Don’t be afraid to have your DPS swap for kicks or spread pressure, and don’t be afraid to do hard swaps to a druid. If you can stun them in caster form with your CDs available I would have you have and your partner both swap Druid hard. Druids are very easy targets while stunned, especially without barkskin up.

Things to note, they will bash you, they will clone you, they will rake stun -> clone you, they will put bleeds and dots on you. It’s just what they do and you can’t avoid those always, BUT…they are beatable.

HoJ the druid first? /shrug

Line of sight, positioning, peeling and interrupts.

Hoj > Repentence or Blinding Light is the best CC chain you’re going to be able to muster. Outside of that, as others have said, It’s all about your ability to pillar hump. Be in voice with your dps if possible to coordinate subsequent CC.

You’re going to spend a lot of time CC’d yourself, but that is the nature of being a healer in arena. You just have to learn to work around it, rotate your CD’s to compensate for their burst while you’re CC’d, and honestly as hard as it might be to fathom just jumping into pvp, reading the situation and just knowing when you’re about to be CC’d. Predicting when the enemy team is about to make their go on your dps is the difference between your dps being bursted with (for example) ultimate sacrifice, or without it. Unfortunately only practice can really teach you that.

Also remember that there’s an 18 second window after the third Cyclone before they can clone you again. Take advantage of that window.

It’s a fairly long cast that’s in the same school as pretty much all of our other spells. Interrupting it is almost as good as hard CC’ing us.
