With the unacceptable state of fire and arcane, how tf do we get the attention of a blue post in here?
Im open to suggestions, but my idea is we should all spam multiple new posts with the same topic title and body until we get a damned response.

simple answer is you don’t. they do not care. they know the issues that players have said over the last few months and they’re refusing to listen or respond. if they was going to fix the two specs it would of been in the 12.0.5 and since nothing has happened it will most likely stay like this till the end of the last titan when they say sorry again for the pruning… again…
The best way you can do it in the forums is either by making a very engaging post that most of the community agrees with so they can upvote it and comment to show your argument is pretty much a consensus or upvote and bring attention to one that’s already been posted. There are some in the PTR forums about Mage.
Other than that is just pray they notice you and agree with the points you are making. Other avenues are Reddit and Twitter, but I don’t think the people in those platforms are very sympathetic to the Mage cause.
Blizzard really needs to have conservative weekly tuning.
Let’s keep this thread going. It’s unacceptable that Fire Mages are being overlooked by Blizzard. Fellow mages, get in here and make some noise so we can get the recognition we deserve!
On another note, I had an idea around our DPS and playstyle outside of Combustion and wanted to get some feedback from the community.
What if we brought back Living Bomb as a proc-based button that detonates all active Ignites for a total of x% of their current DoT value? Similar to how Arcane Missiles works, it would be inactive until triggered, in this case, by a Clearcasting proc, which Ignite would have an x% chance per tick to grant.
Would love to hear what other mages think. Let’s get this in front of Blizzard!
You should drop by the PTR forums and comment on the mage posts over there. It’ll probably get you a better shot at being noticed and it helps to keep all the feedback in one place. Upvoting the threads should also help some.
Hijacking your thread to post my feedback. Icetusks - Zul’jin . You can look at my profile for logs, etc. I have an above average understanding of the class and play in the top 10% of players.
The class
Frost mage has notably been taken for some of these reasons: Defensives(2 IB), S+ Priority Damage in 2-3target , OK Consistent AOE damage. Currently they just nerfed one of our most important features on the back of ruining our consistent opening damage with the glacial change in previous hotfix… This feels very bad. I don’t hesitate to say, this is the beginning of “ruining” the smoothest feeling mage spec/classes in Midnight. They dam near GUTTED it when suggesting we needed to lose 1 of 2 ray charges.
Not sure why all classes have to do all things at the same level. Canonically that makes 0 sense. Midnight made all classes lose identity IMO with majority of changes being QOL … but yea… sadge.
The “Data” that resulted in a nerf this week.
Off the back of us being 2nd-3rd in overall raid damage last week in the 90th + percentile and 1st by a few thousand dps on BOSS damage (our strength). That’s freaking ridiculous. Frost mage does great priority damage and a seasoned mage can time cooldowns properly to help in nuking clustered adds. (they also have to be stacked or we do no AOE). We are terribly underperforming in higher keys for AOE but had great ST/boss damage, and now it got nerfed. 2% in high keys is a massive number.
Blizzard tuning, big picture goal, needs rework
It is very bizarre to BUFF other classes to take the spot of another class who received a nerf in the same week. Just leave the class and buff the underperforming class, no? Also the WEEKLY freaking tuning is absolutely insane, since you can’t see real data until the week is completed, which eludes to blizzard making BLIND balancing/tuning changes that are being written in days before we have aggregate data. Losing my mind as a CE raider to not know if my class will be viable by the time we get or go for CE. Balance after RWF and then leave it IMO… (outside of bug fix and buffing underperforming NO NERFs.)
Maybe the rat mage damage in MDI will help get it noticed ![]()
Hijack away. The more eyes on this the better!
Round one’s wrapped — (+15 key round one) had a mage giving it their all… but you already know which squad walked out with the win, I am rootin for our mage bro.
It clearly hasn’t yet. That’s why I want to keep getting this post boosted and infront of bliz to do a something about it.
You need an absurd amount of posts for Blizzard to take notice. I’m talking 100+ in a 24 hour period from more than 20 different accounts. You only see interactions like that in the PTR / Beta forums, and usually only when Blizzard is making obviously bad decisions.
That or you need to shut down the spec’s discord server.
I’ll look into the discord server, but I refuse to believe that we can’t get enough views/engagements on mine or any of the posts bringing to light what’s going on with Fire and Arcane mage.
bBring your friends, spread this around, and let’s keep getting eyes on it. Im also commenting and liking other posts that are complaining. I won’t let Blizzard off easy for making our experience so lacklustre and disappointing.
Pull a pally, shut down the discords! ![]()
Seriously though, I don’t expect anything to happen at least until the halfway expansion patch, if at all. More than likely mages are stuck in this state until the next expansion. I’ve been at this for more than 20 years and Blizz have a horrendous record on balancing and reacting to player feedback, something that has progressively gotten worse over the years and especially since the World Soul Saga which locked them into a production cycle that they simply cannot handle.
Right now my coppium is that they are trying to balance fire, but it’s hard because we might be too OP and they are taking their time to do it.
Pay a big streamer to make a video about the state of mage
with that you have a 50/50 chance will notice
and after that a 10% to 50% they gona act on a fix depending on if the streamer said : unsub to wow until blizz fixes things
Make it jealous by focusing on the red posts.
You cant get a blue post in here, because the Devs have been replaced by AI.
Someone conjure preheat.
(I’ve seen it done before here)
They are not going to be making ANY changes to specs until 12.0.7 at the very least. You’ll have to wait until then before we see any class tuning. Mage is in a bad spot in keys atm, and only one of the specs is viable (Frost). My prediction for 12.0.7 - This aint the expansion for Mage. Reroll.
