How do people get such high mastery

I am comparing my warcraftlogs to other people of the same ilvl and they have an insane amount more mastery than I do. Lets compare me vs some top parsers on Fallen King Saladbar

I mean, how are they getting over double my mastery for a fight like this? Even with max pot I don’t hit this high of mastery. Every high parser I look at has insanely higher mastery than I do.

i dont know whats going on with mastery…mine is over 30% and my other stats are way too low…but its either take it or not upgrade when gear drops.

Its really about class /spec / gear choice

This mage has like 46% at the same ilvl as my DH that has 70%

Yeah I just have no idea. I am using the exact same talents as them, BM, and at most our gear mastery differences are like 150 mastery so I don’t get how they are hitting almost 2k. Is this just an exploit/bug?

Maybe different trinkets/enchants proccing?

If you’re on warcraft logs just look at their gear.

I did and their gear adds up to barely more than mine. Not the over double they are showing from their stats.

They puzzle boxed before pull instead of during combat. WCL snapshots your stats when combat starts.

The average Ilvl is sometimes misleading. A few main pieces with high stats could make a big difference.

And sometimes people just use their stuff better. Like trinkets and such.

Check their gear + buffs they have active.
You can see that in WCL.

That was what I suspected. Stats showing in WCL are the ones at pull, if they pre-cast puzzle box that shows it higher.

I took a look. Gems are one huge difference I am seeing vs you and Greenbears.

Enchants and trinkets can make a huge difference to. Using puzzlebox before pulls and in m+ depending on the level people will use mastery pots like mini lusts

They have more mastery on their gear. Idk what kind of answer you were expecting.

Where are you looking at their stats?

I’ve noticed the wow armory is really buggy for showing percentages of secondaries.

trinkets too, something like the vaelgor trinket if used adds a ton of mastery

Look at me, and then look at you. Thats why. You have very little BiS going on. You have Puzzle, so make sure you are using that around 2 seconds before pull.

You see their ilvl and you see the other stats. All items have a stats budget limitation, they can’t have an item that gives 100 crit and 500 mastery while someone else with the same item has 100 crit and 130 mastery. All items follow this rule meaning that if you compare other stats you’ll realize some of them have absormal amounts that go beyond the stats budget. As other people already pointed out, this is because of precasting puzzle box.
