I’ve found a way that you can kind of do this.
Theres a quest nearby the Island Expedition queue spot where you hop on a Pterodactyl and fly over to a quest area.
If you dismount while in the air, your pet will be stuck in a swimming animation and is capable of flying anywhere.
During the initial start, you can fly your pet over the gate and start pulling mobs.
EDIT: I should state that this is a Horde only quest, i havent seen anything alliance can do to achieve this.
