Not sure what you mean. Nightfall solves the problems that Time Rifts had. And they’re more enjoyable, imo.
I get to fill a bar based off of my own participation, not missing out because the lazy ones who sit on pillars and try to mooch. Or not filling the bar because there aren’t enough people in the area.
We also get a bar for completion, not just a timer. Finish the bar before the timer, you can finish the event early.
I see all of that as a major plus.
