This is Blizzard’s own game. How could they be this blind to player interest?
It seems almost like stubbornness brought on by their previous stance that nobody would care for Classic. (“You think you do, but you don’t”).
I’m just saying I feel it is very obvious the hype for Classic was much more than Blizzard anticipated. Classic achieved 2x the viewers on Twitch than BFA or Legion launch did. These queues are much longer than it was for either of those expansions on launch day. Even with all the stress tests and all we’re still stuck in this.
I’m not complaining about the queues though. I’m more disturbed they have been so stubborn with their stance on this game, especially with the amount of realms for a release that is so obviously much bigger than anything they’ve had in years.
With that said, why aren’t they popping more realms up? Is it because doing so would be admitting Classic is popular and they may have made colossal, monumental mistakes with the direction taken in the retail game?

Blizzard wanted to create Classic to shove it in the player’s faces to show them nobody wanted it. It was their own ego. Deep down they knew this would happen. Tell me I’m wrong.

I think they realize how much hype for Classic there is.
They also realize that a lot of the people in these first few weeks won’t stick around. Better to suffer long queues for now than suffer a dead server later.

They are opening servers. But, they are also stubborn and have had their head up their butt for a few years. I don’t hate or even dislike them for it, but they have acted stuck up at times.

they opened 5 new servers an hour ago and all have queue’s in the 3-4k player range.

no they arent? adding one or two does nothing. they need to add a dozen right this moment to even hope to alleviate this stress. then later they can merge servers IF the population goes down

They didn’t underestimate anything. Blizzard aren’t blind. They can clearly see how much hype there was.
They said before they didn’t want to add extra servers at the risk of some servers ending up with extremely low populations once a fall off occurs later on, because there ABSOLUTELY will be a fall off, and some of the servers they’ve added will likely be dead.
Hopefully they can provide free transfers for anyone who opts into these servers, because God knows they’ll be complaining about nobody playing on them and how Blizzard shouldn’t have “overestimated” how many people would play Classic.
Because that seems to be the mentality of most people on these forums.

Yeah, I don’t know how big the drop off will be, but there’s definitely going to be one. A lot of them will go back to Retail or less scrupulous places.
Just gotta be patient until things even out.
