Chromie came about the same way just about everything in every movie, TV and video game does now days… with extensive ret conning and becuase the plot demands it.
retconning in vanilla? what exactly WAS there to get retconned?
If my memory is correct, Chromie was preventing a time invasion from maggots in the grain silos near Andorhal, in vanilla.
And didn’t she do that quest with the dead girl who had to rebuild her doll? Or was that somebody else.

I still like to think she pretends to be forgetful so she doesn’t spoil stuff. Her dialogue in Heroes of the Storm is pretty funny

A good resource for anyone interested in lore is Nobbel87 on youtube. His videos are extremely lore-centric and he’s touched on a LOT of topics over the years. If there’s a major, or even somewhat major character that you want to know about, there’s a good chance he’s made a video on it.

Also, ask a way! I love lore discussions. It’s my favorite part of this game, and it’s a nice break from the fighting that’s always going on here.
Anywho: My (quick version) of an answer:
Chromie is a member of the Bronze Dragon flight. Dragon flights are the offspring of the 5 dragon aspects. The dragon aspects where dragons that were gifted by the Titans with specific powers to help protect the world from the Old Gods.
Blue: Magic
Red: Life
Black: Earth (Theirs is a tragic tale)
Green: Nature/the Dreaming
and Bronze got time. For the Titans said, there is only one correct timeline, and it must be protected from all those who would change it. So that’s what Chromie and her crew be doing.
However, much of their power has been lost since the fall of Deathwing and the use of the Dragon Soul during the events of the Cataclysm.
The 5 aspects have lost their immortality and ability to reproduce. As well as much of their potency.
Still, Chromie keeps doing what she does best. She’s a favorite of mine.

Quick question. Its not su much about chromie. But Does the little Plant vs Zombie quest still exist near Lordearon. I havent been there in so long
Her current use in WoW is to do exactly that. There is very little new lore in WoW. Mainly just recycled stuff.
One of the best sources for lore information is wowpedia.
While players and GD can be a good source of information, everyone is guilty of perception or experience related flaws and deficiencies. If the lore really interests you I would recommend getting familiar with wowpedia, nobbel87, and the various available media for the game as well as reading quest text. Every source is invaluable and fills gaps in one way or another. But dont let the “go google it” crowd discourage you from asking questions. That is what the forums are for. Unfortunately the anonymity and accessibility of the internet gives people the freedom to be act as they please and gives them a public platform to do it.

Agreed. I hate the “google it” response. Sure they could do that but maybe they just want to have a nice conversation in addition to learning the information.

I first met her (approximately level 56ish) in a low level Argent Dawn related quest in early 2008 in Andorhal in Lordaeron. She’s investigating the scourge invading the timelines.

You see, when a mommy Bronze dragon and a daddy bronze dragon love each very, very much they like to hug in a special way.
And sometimes, if they’re fortunate, the mommu dragon will lay an egg. And when that egg hatches, a baby dragon is born.
Thus, was Chromie created.

But, if you google ‘wow chromie’ you get FAR more information than you ever could off the forums.
It’s not bad advice if you really want to get into the lore.
Asking on the forums is probably the worst way to get information cause every thread get hijacked by people whining and fighting.
