How Cynics move the goalposts

Really, when did they say that?

Go watch the dev interview from blizzcon, pretty clear they like the performance of modern WoW and aren’t going to muck it up just because that’s the way it was.

I’ve watched everything Blizzard has put out and has said about Classic. Never got the impression of what you’re saying. So, unless you can provide specifics I’m just going to assume you’re making stuff up.

Nah now it’s your turn to go find where they said they want network performance to work exactly the same as it did 14 years ago.

You’re the one making the claim. Burden of proof is on you.

You’re the one claiming they’re intentionally going to be creating poor performance.

I’ve already shown you proof they like the new spell batching system and considered the old one random.

You’ve only shown proof they made spell batching smaller and an over simplified explanation of how it works. If you want to claim they said they won’t reverse spell batching back to what it was, then burden is on you to prove they said that.

  1. Vanilla didn’t have sharding and survived, TBC didn’t have sharding and survived, WotLK didn’t have sharding and survived

…but Classic™ NEEDS sharding to survive…because reasons…

Maybe if we moved the goalposts back one more time so Cody Parkey will actually make a field goal.

:clinking_glasses: Preach!

Right back at cha buddy! Ya my doubts, as they were i guess, were always just long term financial viability and people making grandiose claims of numbers, ive always wanted the servers and really look forward to playing.

If it’s just to smooth out the initial week or two in starting zones, fine. I get it. But if it rears its ugly head at any point after that the server is in trouble. I remember MoP launch, I got stuck in a copter for half an hour with a hundred or more other players firing rockets at a small ship hoping to get another barrel to finish the quest. I don’t mind a tiny bit of intervention to smooth the start out, but past that the competition is natural.

I do believe there’s going to be a much higher turn out for launch than originally given the smaller (likely anyway) number of servers, so perhaps Blizzard doesn’t want to scare people away with a long queue - after all, if one can play retail without one, or wait an hour or more in queue for Classic, why would they wait if they aren’t invested in the game itself?

Wasn’t he the Bears kicker?

Classic is not vanilla… vanilla was a live event from 04 to to 07,

Classic is a restoration or replica of vanilla which will have some slight variance. The guiding principal being to minimise the amount of variance.

Yep lol. 10 chars

More workouts for my report forum post button. You must really like getting forum vacations for personal attacks. Guess you didn’t learn from the last one you got.

Bears fans still ticked at that last set of plays? LOL

lol I just like trollin bears fans… That last one he missed wasn’t his fault as a DL tipped it. I’m a Cowboys fan myself. I’m actually from Texas though.

Ouch. You must have hated seeing Philly win that year.

Chiefs and Lions fan here. Last year was exciting, if a bit disappointing in the end.

Not really… The NFC East has the most super bowl wins so I was ok with them bringing one to the division. Plus I HATE the Patriots. I’ve adopted the chiefs as my AFC team after Mahomes got me a fantasy win this last season. When the Chiefs play the Cowboys I’ll be reppin my Cowboys though.

Interestingly, one of the observations the Nostalrius team has from years of experience in the private server scene was that players were more likely to abandon servers that had implemented changes that made the game easier. The players felt less attached to their characters.

Should be interesting to see how this tendency is reflected in BfA players trying out Classic.
