How come there are no notable Blood Elf Mages?

what about that kaelynara in talador that went crazy in those mines because she got a rejection letter from the great astalor. the one you get a tear stained letter from?

hem hem he said MAGES not PALADIN HUSSY TRAITORS.

Unfortunately Belfs are on the ā€˜bad guy’ side, so they don’t get as much plot armor as humans cough Jaina cough.

I miss The Scryers - they were the cool BE mage faction that helped kick KaelThas’ crazy butt and Illidan to boot.

And Rommath hasn’t done anything but complain.

It would be nice to have a strong magical BE leader in the mix. Give 'Ole Lor’themar a little rest since he hates politics so much.

That’s not true. He helped Thalryssa threaten Lor’themar into going on a date with her.

Horde bias probably.

Dead or not, Kael’thas is the face of the Blood Elf Race. There isn’t another because they don’t need another. And also because Blood Elves are generally irrelevant to the story and for a decade the fact that nobody knew the name of their leader was a frequent joke among WoW players lol

Flashbacks to years of ā€œLor’themar who?ā€.

Gunther Arcanas iirc?

The main reason we don’t hear much about any living blood elf mage is because blizzard neglects using its’ lore to its’ full potential and instead only focuses on a small cast of characters at a time.

Undead. Meryl became Undead. Forsaken is the name of a group, not the name of that state of existence. As far as I know, Meryl Felstorm never joined the Forsaken, so he isn’t Forsaken. Alonsus Faol also isn’t Forsaken.

Also I don’t think it’s particularly hard to become Undead.

Kael’thas is absolutely a ā€œnotable Blood Elf mageā€, so you’ve answered your own question here.

Meryl Felstorm.

Meryl fought in the Troll Wars. He was killed during the wars, but couldn’t let himself remain dead as too many lives depended on the completion of his mission. And so through his magic, he became undead. Alodi regarded him as a great hero. As such he is neither one of the Forsaken nor Scourge, but has been undead for roughly 2,800 years.

Aside from Kaelthas, you don’t hear heroic stories like this from BE mages like this guy, Vargoth, Medivh, Khadgar, Rhonin, etc, etc. I could be wrong there, though.

Hey, isn’t he like from one of those Lotr movies? You know the ones with Spam, Frito, and Legoflamb.

Spoiler alert… He’s not exactly dead.
